Best ... I''ve found
I wear a lot of ... shirts. Probably too many actually. I have a large bust and have trouble finding tops that fit. This one, though, has not disappointed me. The v neck is very flattering. The fabric is not too stretchy, so the ... never looks too tight. But it's cut slim enough to flatter. A lot of tees are made of very thin fabric that requires you to always wear something else underneath. This ... not like that. It's very versitle. I wear it with shorts, jeans and belted with skirts. I'm excited to have found it and I hope Banana Republic never takes it off the market.
I am extremely pleased with the short sleeve time less T. I have 2 questions. Why can't I find T shirts of exactly the same, fabric and cut in the stores? When will Banana Republic ship to Australia?
LOW CUT
Great shirt, but I have a short torso and not much of a chest, so it was too low cut for me.
A Perfect Tee
I have this tee in four colors and, despite the fact that two of them developed tiny holes near the hem pretty early in their careers, I'll buy more. They have a snug fit to begin with, but being 100% cotton, they loosen up a bit with wearing. They are definitely fitted, and are cut to accentuate the waist, which I like. By all means size up if you like a looser fit. The best thing: they are a perfect length, not too short or too long. If you're tired of how every single J. Crew & Gap tee comes down to your thighs (and I'm a little over 5'4" and not a petite), you'll want this tee. The V neck is rather low, but I find it flattering because I'm small on ... wear these with untucked with jeans and skirts, under cardigans, and sometimes with a long necklace for a dressier look. They are soft and comfortable. I hope Bananan will make them in more colors and with long sleeves for winter!
too small for a medium
I usually wear a medium in Banana Republic tops (and I have more than 30 of them). I ordered this ... medium and it was too tight. being 100% cotton I can't imagine how much tighter it would have gotten after a wash and dry. other than that, it looked very cute and feminine for a ... waiting for the large to arrive now.
Too tight!!!
I was hoping for a basic ... but this just runs too small! I always wear a small in BR tops but this was so tight. If you like it, order a size (or two) up!
Not happy
At first I thought these fit great, but then they shrank. They are WAY too short! I can't wear them anymore and I haven't had them very long. They would be perfect if they were just a couple inches longer. And FYI, they run small to begin with. I usually wear a 2 at BR but I don't like tees tight so I ordered a medium, glad I did because they were still tight under my arms. Just not thrilled with this and I expected more from BR.
Good at first, Very bad after a while
I had a few of these shirts and they fit beautifully in the dressing room and on the first few wears. They do tend to stretch out through the day, but the first few times I washed them they would draw back up to their original size. The problems started probably a few wears in (after the 3rd or 4th wash). They started stretching more and not drawing up except in the length. So I have some too short, too big tshirts. Since the cotton is so nice, I decided to buy it in a smaller size but the same problem happened again. So it's a great find if you only like to wear your shirts a handful of times before tossing them, but I gave mine away and am replacing all of them.
Quality fabric but inconsistent sizing
The crewneck version of the basic tee used to be my "go to, never fail" wardrobe staple and I used to buy them by the handful without trying them on because the fit was so consistent. Those shirts were made in Singapore. Over the past few years, I noticed the fit started to vary but I was still basically happy with them, even when the manufacturing source changed to Vietnam. I recently bought a crewneck ... store and liked the fit so much I took a gamble and assumed the V neck version would fit the same, but I was wrong. It was disappointing to find so much variation in sizing between the "same sized" shirt---not just between colors but between two shirts in the same color as well! The shirt sleeve feels looser as well. I have noticed more comments complaining about the quality of the basic ... would be willing to pay more if the quality was more consistent.
Runs small for BR, quality mediocre
Usually size Small in BR tops (whether sweaters, t shirts, tanks or tunics) fits just right or a little loose on me. This ... tight, fit much more like an XS. Had to return. Also even though it wasn't expensive, I thought it was overpriced for the quality. I'd rather spend less on a similar quality Gap ... more on a higher quality designer ...
The previous 5% lycra mix was so much better
I live in these t shirts. I buy around 12 a year. But my last purchase really disappointed me. Both short sleeve and long sleeve lose their shape and don't fit nearly as well as the old 5% lycra mix. A really sad change. I've bothered to write a review, but several of my BR friends who have not, feel just the same way.

high quality basic T
I bought this because I realized my perfectly good T Shirt from several years ago (another brand) was actually too short to be in style anymore. This T hits halfway between actual waist and actual widest part of hip. The cotton feels high quality. I don't think you can go wrong with this if you just want a basic T shirt. Re: sizing: I almost always wear a medium in BR tops. I am 5'4", 34B, 27 waist and 39 hips. I have not washed it yet so can't comment on that. I bought the V neck as well and like that too. I have a white, a coral, and a black -- all of which I like.
High quality fitted tee - not for the overweight
I have four of these tee shirts. I like the colors; the black is very black,and the white is dense so that it's not see through. These shirts wash well too. I have spilled red wine and salad oil on these shirts, but with careful washing was able to get the stains out and the shirts look like new. What makes this tee shirt special is the spandex in the shirt. It always looks fitted, never sloppy. However, the same thing that makes it look good will also make it look less than good on you if you have a tummy. Although I indicated that they are true to size, because they are fitted it will feel snug and if you're between sizes, you definitely want the larger size. The sleeve length is little on short side (which I like) but the length of the tee is generous.
All occasion white crew T shirt
I love the fit of BR's short sleeve crew Tishirt. I like the cap sleeve and overall good fit. The T shirt keeps its shape after many washings. Goes well with all casual outfits.
The best gift!
I've tried many T shirts but Banana Republic offers far and away the best Tee for the best price. The fabric and quality of these Tees is unsurpassed and they hold their color extremely well. The fit and cut are excellent and forgiving - what more could one ask for! I buy in both long sleeve and short, wear them year round and they work into almost any outfit or occasion. Thank you BR, your Tee is a wardrobe gift from Heaven.
Great basic tee
I'm so glad that I read the other reviews before ordering this tee in black and white--I'm ordinarily a S or even XS in the Gap and BR, but I definitely needed the Medium in this tee instead. The M fits perfectly--fitted but not clingy. The length is also perfect--it fits right at the hip and isn't too short or too long. The white isn't opaque (does such a tee even exist?) but neither is it completely see through to an embarassing degree. The only improvement is to offer more colors!
Great!
I'm 5' 9" and 145 lbs, and this shirt fits like a dream. It's just long enough while still maintaining 'girl fit' t shirt proportions. I wear a size small in normal unisex t shirts and a size L in American Apparel 'girl fit' t shirts, but, unlike the latter, the shoulders aren't too small and the shirt isn't too short. It's incredibly flattering, and it's surprisingly nice to not feel the need to tug it down over my belt more. It just fits. Great quality, nice and soft -- my only complaint is that it comes in only two colors.

I have this t shirt in all colours, long - and short sleeve. It fits me perfectly and I wear it casually or dress it up.
I love my short sleeve crew neck Tees! I bought one in every color and wear them constantly -- work, casual, active. They are extremely versatile and add just the right touch to any outfit. The high quality organic cotton fit as expected and holds up well in the wash.
Highly versitile, stylish, and comfortable crewneck
I absolutely love this crewneck shirt. I can wear it with my work skirts or slacks, or dress it up with a short skirt and jacket for going out. I can even wear it over my favorite pair of jeans when going casual. It's the best all around shirt a girl can have in her closet. The color lasts wash after wash, and a short tumble in the dryer takes care of all the wrinkles - so no ironing. It's wonderful! My only wish is that the sleeves were about an inch or two longer.
great color
i have been buying tshirts at br for years. i liked them better when the material was slightly thicker and less stretchy. the sleeves used to be slightly longer too and the overall length is definitely longer. the sleeves are definitely a bit too short but not bad enough to make me go looking for another brand. overall, the fit is good. and i love the grey/blue/violet color--i bought 4. i wish br would carry more colors, especailly in the long sleeve.
Good overall
I thought because it was pima it would be more vibrant colored and maybe have a slight sheen. But it felt like a normal BR tee. Short at waist but I am tall through the upper body. So caution if you are tall too.
