Beautiful well made shirt I just bought two of these in the store at great sale prices. One is a beautiful berry color and the other a white and purple ish stripe. These are so well made and are excellent for wear in professional office settings. I am 5'6", 137 lbs, 36C and these fit almost perfectly in the size 8. I could actually wear a size 6 for the shoulders, but I need the 8 for the bust. Honestly, although I think these shirts are lovely, I wish they would be just a little bigger in the bust so I could wear the 6, as I am fussy about the shoulder width, and think my proportions are very typical. Comparing prices for other brands, for an almost 100% cotton very well made, shirt, these are a great price even if not on sale. I am hoping they do not shrink when washed, but I think the small amount of spandex in them will prevent that.
This is THE Best Dress Shirt....(buy one size up, though!) I've been wearing these Sateen Non Iron shirts for about five years. It is my go to work shirt, and this is why: 1. You can literally iron it in one minute (yes, even "Non Iron" shirts still need a quick pass with an iron. Use the steam setting to get the kinks out quickly). 2. They look much more expensive than what you pay, especially when you buy them on sale. 3. They are dressy enough to stand on their own. Pair with a skirt or pants then jet out the door. 4. They wear well. I'm too cheap to dry clean my clothes. I wash these in cold water using Downy and line dry them. The color keeps well. My older ones look as good as the day I bought them. In other words, these are a good investment. One last thing, buy one size up for a comfortable fit. I'm a 0/XS in Banana Republic clothes, but buy these in a size 2. It looks more flattering a size up and will allow you to tuck in the tail, which is short on this dress shirt.
Basic At 5,10" & 180#, I took a size 12. I wear 34D bra. I buy Tall in all Banana Republic pants, but not tops. This was NOT Tall, size 12. Perfect.
Super fitted I also own the previous version of this shirt and was hesitant to buy the new one even though I loved my old ones so much due to the reviews here. However, since I have a small bust and it was on sale, I pulled the trigger... I received it in the mail today ready to return but once I put it on, I had to keep it. It's so hard to find a nicely fitted shirt for a reasonable price but BR has made a great basic work shirt here. I'm a size 0 in the old and new shirts and I do find that the new ones are much more fitted and tapered in the waist and arms which is much better tailoring for me. The old one fit a bit wider all the way around which perhaps fits the average American woman better but for us petite types, this one's a definite winner.
Size up I bought one of these blouses last spring in a size 4 (my usual size in tops and blouses) and it's very tight across the chest, to the point that the buttons gap. I tried again, this time ordering a 6, and the fit is perfect. I'm not a super busty woman (I suppose you could say I have an "average" size chest) so unless you are pretty much flat chested I would recommend going up a size. I have a feeling this will become my go to blouse for work.
Nice fitted shirt, slightly shorter than I would have liked It's a great work shirt, fitted and flattering. The wrinkle free feature is fantastic. My only complaint is I like my tops longer and this shirt is slightly short for me.
Nice, but small I have bought many of the non iron shirts over the years and they are nice staples.I always get them on sale for (at least 40% off) which makes it worthwhile. I never tumble them but hang dry on hangers, which seems to make them last longer - less wear and tear on the fabric. However, like so many others have pointed out, the tighter version (the "fitted" shirt) is small and not great for a medium or larger chest. The looser "tailored" shirt is much more size accurate. BR used to make this shirt with French cuffs too and it was super elegant, but no more unfortunately. I am a 5´6, 128 pound woman with a 34C cup and I am a typical size 6. But not for thie BR shirts. I buy a size 6 in tailored, but a size 8 in the fitted shirts (and even that is somewhat tight). If you haven't bought this shirt before, I highly recommend you try the sizing in store before you order as the cut is somewhat iffy and you will probably have to size up, especially if you are larger than an A cup.
Good acquisition I'm happy to add this blouse to my banana's collection of tops. It's match very well with jeans or casual pants.
Great basic I work in a cold office and these seem to be the only shirts I have found that actually button up to the neck. Lots of v necks out there so I got three of these when there was a 40% off sale. I do wish they came in tall sizes though. I did feel that it's best to go up a size. Even when I did that the shirt is very fitted especially in the chest and I am not very endowed in that area! I got the tailored style as well and that seems to be a little looser but I also had to go up a size in that one as well. For me personally I always have to go one size up no matter what I buy here - tops and pants.
Just OK Got this shirt on sale-- it's a standard work shirt, looks fine, but not terrific quality (i.e., a lot of loose threads). I normally wear a size 6 and the shirt was a little snug across the chest.
Color is beautiful I love the material. I LOVE the color. Bought this online in turquoise. As usual, BR sizing for me is off off off. I never know what size to buy. I wear XS in some tops, M in some, L in others, I wear 6 in sleeveless button down, 8 in others and so on. Get my frustration? Ho hum. I ordered this in size 8. It was too tight across the girls and it was way too big on my upper back. I don't want to look like I have a hump back. Had to take it back. The next size up was massive and the sleeves way too long. Oh well. I think I am going to give up trying to get a long sleeved button up/down shirt to fit. I am 5'4", weigh 123 and the girls are a 36c. I have an hourglass figure. The colors are fabulous. Wish I could wear it.
