Great work pant, runs slightly small
At 5'10" in the low 140s lbs., I run right on the cusp of sizes 6 and 8, but am usually a 6 in most brands. I DEFINITELY needed an 8 in these pants, in part b/c of the higher rise cutting right across your belly, where I tend to hold my weight. In size 8, they ... perfectly, and are an absolutely great work pant - flattering, professional, lined (thank god; so sick of cheap BR pants that aren't), and at least for my 5'10" self, the perfect length (although I do wonder, who do the LONG ... if not me?).
My FAVORITE pants!
The Martin pants are probably BR's best creation! It is so comfortable, light weight, and flattering. I can wear these all day without feeling like I am in professional dress pants. The inner lining is extremely comfortable. They are also ultra comfortable and ... true to size.
Great pant!!
Banana Republic is one of the only companies left that makes a flattering pant in a 36" length for tall women. I'm 5'11" and 200lbs. I bought the Martin ... Size 14 and it ... wonderfully! Very flattering for curves. I will probably still need to have mine unhemmed for x tra length with heels, but otherwise a fantastic pant for work or casual wear!! Only downer is that they only come in black. I wish BR would expand their color selections.
The perfect pant!
It is such a pleasure to purchase pants that ... so well while making the person wearing them look great! I love that the pants are lined, allowing them to hang like they were professionally tailored just for me. Although I needed to shorten the pants by two inches (36 inches to 34 inches), it was a small sacrifice in order to be able to wear pants that are perfect in every other way. These pants are well worth the price.

These pants are AMAZING!!!!!!!! BANANA REPUBLIC, PLEASE NEVER CHANGE THESE PANTS & PLEASE NEVER STOP MAKING THEM!!!!!!!!!! BR, you will always have a loyal customer in me if you keep making these pants as they are. Please make them in as many colors as possible. These are a classic wardrobe staple. I am 25, 5'10, and wear a 12 Tall, and it is very difficult for me to find pants that fit great. These pants are remarkable. I would say that they fit very true to size because I wear a 12 in everything else. I just bought about 4 new pairs of these and they are amazing. I'm a healthcare professional and I wear trousers almost every day in the office, so I require several pairs. In addition, I wear them out to nice dinners, etc. Ladies, I have tried every brand out there... and finally the search is over for the perfect pants; these offer the style, quality, durability, flattering fit, and comfort that I need for work and play. These are true quality trouser dress pants. My legs are 35in inseam so I am going to get a couple of pairs hemmed so that I can sometimes wear flats; the others I will leave as is so that I can wear heels (it's nice to have the option!!) Banana Republic, I should note that I bought 1 pair of martin fit suit pants in 2007 with the exact same material makeup as the ones I just bought (tag says martin fit stretch, same size, and exact same materials as the ones I just bought) but the ones I just bought have a FAR superior cut and fit to the ones I bought in 2007. The ones I bought in 2007 had a narrow waistband and do not fit like the ones I just got. I love the wider waistband and fit of the ones I just got so much better!!! The ones I just got ... like the martin ... pants I used to buy back in the day (before and up until 2005ish) and fell in love with!!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for going back to the best and listening to your customers!!!!!!!
Perfect work pants
I ordered these pants online and they ... perfectly, what a pleasant surprise. I almost always wear a 12 for BR pants, and these were right on the mark. They might be slightly bigger than a normal 12 but just by a hair. They are nice and light, comfortable and look very professional. A great purchase.
not for slender women
The material is nice but the proportions seem to be off -- the rise in back is very high, and there's a lot of extra material in the hips and thighs. A good tailor could fix this, but I plan to return the ... Pity that BR doesn't offer the more slender Sloan ... suiting.
