Fantastic pair of pants!
These are my go to pair of pants! Perfect for a casual Saturday or a Friday night date night. I love the way they fit & feel when wearing them. The Martin pants are the pants for me! FYI I never undo the pocket stitching. The silhouette remains perfect. I have some other Martin pants that have the stitching removed. They are great too. I just prefer them with the stitching intact.
great fit!
i bought it with matching suit jacket for interview, fits perfectly on me. I'm 5'3, 112lbs, 0P pants fit just right, martin style is classic and suitable for formal occassion.
Versatile, professional work ...
At 4' 10" I still had to hem the ... length, but the fit is flattering otherwise. I also had my tailor sew the side pockets down to avoid accentuating my hips. Doing so makes the pants look more polished in my opinion. With those fixes, this pair of pants looks great.
Versatile, good fit, comfortable
I love Martin pants. As I am 4'9", I always have to shorten the length; but other than that, Martin 00 fits perfectly for me. The rise is just right - not too high, not too low. I like the nice lightweight wool that this one is made of - it can be worn through three seasons in Virginia. Very comfortable and versatile.
Finally, a decent work ...
Couple of years ago, I bought my work suit from BR and loved the fit of the Martin pants. Then all pants had lining in them and were neither too loose or fitted to the body to make it appropriate to a conservative work environment. In the last couple of yers, I have been dissappointed with BR's selections and finally they bought back my favorite pants with lining in them. They fit perfectly on my petite frame and doesnt look awkward. My lower hips are wider so I always have to end up getting a size up from my normal size. But these pants fit perfectly below the waist, hips and gives a slimming effect instead of emphasizing my hips! I wish they would bring back these exact same pants in various colors.
Pants make bum look better
I'm a 40-something and not quite the runner/athlete I used to be, but these pants are cut to make it look like I'm more in shape than I am. The actual material of the ... good, but a pair I bought several years ago looked even better, but for the price, these pants are a great look for work beyond casual Friday's.
good n bad
This pants definitely has the sliming effect, it would make you look 10 lbs lighter than in reality. But, the material is 'cheap' since it attracts pet hair too much, compared to the other banana pants I purchased about 3 yrs ago.
Comfort Slacks
The Martin Fit has changed since 2008, the leg is wider, the waist band is a tiny bit thicker, the light weight wool is not as light due to the full size inner sleeve. Aside from all those little details they are still the best work pants EVER!
I'm surprised how close to perfect the fit of these are to my petite figure. As always, I bought the smallest size that BR offered. The 00P is slightly big on my 5'1 95 lbs figure. The fabric is very versatile for all season. I just wish they have slimmer sihouette. Without 2"-3" heels, I would look really short in these pants. I'll probably keep them since I got them at a really good price ([$]). I may get the legs slimmed and the waist taken in a little bit to get the perfect fit so I can have a complete suit as I also bought the blazer to match. Hopefully BR will stop the vanity sizing so petites like me don't get sized out any time soon.
Martin Mayhem
so the strange thing with these pants, though i LOVE the look and feel of them, they differ in fit from color to color, even in the exact same style. In the blue grey color, the 0P fits me to the "T" (I'm about 105 lbs. and 5"0) so i was excited to order the black ones. However, they dwarf me - i look ridiculous in them, while the 00P barely button...this is quite frustrating when shopping online. If not for being too big, I would have kept them - they look great with the matching black suit jacket (however, i would love for BR to make their petite everything's shorter in general)...perhaps you'll have better luck!
A keeper
The pants fit as expected. I've read other reviews about the fabric issue but it's too new to tell with just one wear. It's hard to find petite size clothes for work that does not make you look like you are 60+ or spending a lot for brands like Theory and Paul Smith. When wearing with a black cashmere sweater, the pants did look less black in contrast - so I don't think it's a true black.
