mens straight leg jeans - reviews

The best jeans aroundI bought three pairs, two 33x34's and one 34x34. As I expected the 33s broke in and now fit like a glove. My wife always tells me how great they look. I typically wear a 34, but the 33s fit just right, not tight and not loose. I have purchased BR jeans for years, and the Straight fit is definitely the way to go. The relaxed fit (compared to the straight fit) is okay, but I find the thigh area to be a little snug, although bearable. The color is dark, but it lightens up nicely with a few washings. I highly recommend this product.

Great JeansThis pair of jeans is great in that it has a great dark rinse wash, the fabric is heavy without being 'weighty', and the overall fit is pretty true to size. It was a bit long in the leg compared to other products with the same size description. They are great for going out in to dressier occasions and can be worn a bit more relaxed. Highly recommend this product!

Good fit and classyI got this pair of jeans for my husband, and we selected the sizes according to his normal dress pants sizing. Both the length and waist were perfect for him. The color is a really nice dark wash that goes well with shirts of both dark and light colors, even blues and greens. The fabric is not stretchy but is not rough either. His biggest complaint is that the crotch area could be a little looser; however he does prefer the higher waistline. The rear and leg areas are fitted without being tight. Overall, a stylish and well fitted pair of jeans we highly recommend.

Love BR Straight Fit JeansThis is my 3rd pair of BR straight fit jeans, got the dark wash color this time. These are my favorite jeans and the fit is perfect. I'm 6'4" and wear a 36x36 which is hard to find and even harder to find that fit well. Only wish I could buy my jeans in the stores but if you need a 36" length there's not a lot of choices out there.

Great DenimGreat fit and style. These jeans have a slightly looser fit than other straight fit BR jeans, but I find myself wishing my other jeans fit more like these.

Good JeansI wear jeans everyday to work. I have been looking for a couple of pairs of new jeans to wear that feel and look good. These jeans meet all of my requirements and I would recommend them to anyone. I did find that they ran a little longer than most BR jeans but nothing a quick trip to the taylor couldn't fix.

First timer for straight fit ... I had not purchased anything but relaxed fit ... Banana Republic. Until these ... found the fit to be surprisingly tighter for the same size ... had expected a slight difference in fit, not something this dramatic (especially in the thighs). However, I really wanted dark wash as the "distressed look" seems to be getting old very quickly. Unfortunately normal dark wash ... not available in relaxed fit. Hey BR, please to a relaxed fit dark wash, perhaps in the Heritage line (and using premium denim). Dark wash seems a step up in style from the now tiresome distressed look.

Baggier and looser than expectedThe material is good but the jean came in bigger than all other pants from BR ordered in the same size. They were loose around the waist, loose around the hips, and long in the leg. I thought "straight" fit was going to be somewhat form fitting given that's the general cut of BR clothing, but I would have called it more "relaxed" fit.

Not what I expectedThese ... aren't what you expect. The denim is hard like it is starched. I think they have an uncomfortable feel. I bought them looking for a more dress looking jean, and although the general look appears to be more dressy, I was uncomfortable wearing them.Reviews about the length being too long are dead on. I did the same and held them up to some Vintage cut ... have and these are 1.5-2" longer. I know these are supposed to sit a bit higher on your waist, but I think the waist size is larger making them sit low. I will be returning them and making sure I try on the next pair I buy first.
Sizing is way off compared with in store jeansMy straight jean size from banana's store is 30x32 so when I ordered these jeans off the website in the same style I expected them to be the same fit. The jeans I receieve were marked 30x32 but they were extremely large. The waist was an inch to 2 inches larger than a 30 waist and the length was 2 - 3 inches larger than 32L. So i ordered 30x32 and recieved 32x34 marked as 30x32. Return to sender.
way too long!Definitely do not buy these jeans without trying them on. I ordered a 34x32, to replace an old pair of Banana Republic jeans. I just measured the inseam of the jeans; it's almost 34 inches instead of 32. I ordered these jeans specifically because I assumed they would fit like the old pair, so I wouldn't have a sizing problem. Because I live in Switzerland, it's prohibitively expensive to exchange the jeans. Very disappointing; I certainly will never order online from Banana Republic again.

nice but...Very nice ... - ... seat and thighs - but too big in the waist and too short - of course, they were a 30 x 32 - I really need a 29 x 33 or 34 - which Banana Republic doesn't offer. I can wear a 30 waist in some brands - but this one ran big. I had to return them. I'm afraid they will shrink in the leg and I won't be able to wear them at all.

perfect dark ... My husband wears a 29/32-- very hard to find anywhere but BR. We have bought many ... over the years from BR but these are the best yet. Bought one pair and liked them so much that I bought two more pair during the sale. The ... pretty consistent from pair to pair-- one was just a little tight but still fine. The color is darker than the web site image suggests. The ... very versatile because they are just slightly worn in looking. I hope BR keeps making them exactly like this. We had also purchased a pair of the same style and size in the lighter indigo color but the ... way too large and the legs were too short-- they had to go back. That's why when you find something that is pretty near perfect, stock up.

Not Straight fitThese are definitely a more relaxed fit jean. Also, they are very long. For those looking for a relaxed style they are perfect, just got a size down in the length. If you want a great pair of "straight" ... suggest the gap straight fit.

Straight fit from BR has many definitionsThese ... legs, are huge. They fit baggier than their "relax fit" line. I ordered 3 pairs of straight fit from end of nov to end of december. All 3 are completely different. The one I ordered in store, "straight" fits great. So I ordered 2 online. One came loose, the other even looser. The latter is really baggy. I will only be ordering ... store now from on.

BR is not the same as it used to be.I have been a fan of BR ... many many years. This last ... arrived with a hole in it but I am not going to return it since it’s not worth the hassle. However what is really making me think twice before ordering online again is that there are big size differences between straight ... even size differences between ... same reference (same wash). Reading all the reviews I am not the only one who thinks this. Another thing is that the quality does not look as premium as it used to, they kind of look like their lower end ... gap. Another reason I did not return them was because I sent them to an international courier service from Visa in Miami that sends them to my home in South America, I know that BR has an international shipping service but the rates are very high.

I have bought other pants online before but have never had this problem. Usually I need to shorten them because I have an inseam of 30 and with my waist size, I can't get 30. But these pants are not straight. they are relaxed.

Not like my old BR ... I've given up hope that BR will make a jean like they did 7 years ago. My purchase of this straight fit jean was my third attempt in 7 years to do just that. But, none match my original pair, which are still my favorite pair of ... Their manufacturing is so inconsistent, that you can't rely on a standard straight jean being the same, though in name it is. It's not the same in almost every way: the craftsmanship -- my original pair had cloth trimmed edges on the inside of the ... drape -- they drape perfectly, which is probably due to a nicer fabric and weave; fit -- the fit over all just feels right and hangs right. This new pair isn't even close. Well, maybe I'll give it another few years and try again.

Straight ... I have to admit I was a bit bummed about these ... Have a pair just like them at home that I bought in the store -- same cut, same size, same everything -- and these new ones were WAY smaller :( I love BR's ... but this was a disappointment. Hoping an in store exchange will save the day!

Way loose and long; WHAT HAPPENED TO BR SIZING/QUALITY??BR ... were once the absolutely perfect ... I'm 5'6'' and wear a 30x30; for a few years now I've worn the Gap Standard ... 30x30 as my casual/working outside ... BR Standard as my nicer casual/going out ... would buy one of each every 6 months or so online bc I wore them so frequently... Now both the Gap and BR versions of these ... 1-1.5" longer, AT LEAST 1"+ too loose in the waist, and the measured leg opening is at minimum .5" bigger. Why would they change a perfect ... true, perfect ... Now the quality is terrible, the color is misrepresented and way darker in reality, and the ... manufactured in like 20 different foreign countries, each one sizing them differently and using different materials. In short, BR has become exactly what Gap is, and both have plummeted in quality control and sizing. Also, the BR basic tee is now 2.5" longer in length, 1" longer in sleeve and looks like a poor Hanes quality shirt. Not buying from BR until they change things; until then, only Polo is reliable for quality/sizing.

Meh... ok but following the usual trend these days of "less is more" -- my old 32Ws used to be a bit tight on me (ahem) but the ones I ordered recently are a bit loose. Color is way darker than shown as others have indicated. The front of the leg is a bit faded and at the top of the thigh there's some "whiskering" in the wash. Really wish BR offered a plain old normal medium light wash ... no faux hipster nonsense.
Unexpectedly baggyWhen I ordered these ... hoping for a classic straight fit pair of ... didn't realize that these ... fit lower than expected and were not flattering at all in the seat. The stitching in the back made them look even more unflattering. If one was looking more for an urban style jean, this is probably more for them. I'll probably not order ... BR online again, and I definitely won't buy this style of ...
