This is one of the most versatile shirts in my closet. I wear it or work and casual. I hope that BR never stops selling these.
Great Shirts
These shirts fit great. My only complaint is the lack of variety in colors available.
glad these are back for 2011
I really like these shirts and I was glad to see that BR is offering them again for 2011. I have quite a few of them, each color plus several whites. I saw some of the other reviewers complain about the thinness of the fabric, but I saw that as a plus rather than a negative. These are summer weight shirts, and living in Dallas where the temperature can be 100+ for a month straight, these shirts allow you to stay cool and the fabric doesn't wrinkle so you stay pressed as well. I pair these shirts with dress chinos for a just right summer casual look for work.

I was concerned about the sizing so I ordered the xxl and xl both in tall as I am 6'2 and for some reason most clothing manufacturers think all guys are 5'10 or shorter as I have had issues with length in my shirts before. I tried to combat that with going to an xxl which I can fit as I have broad shoulders at about 225-230 lbs but the xxl seems to run very wide and looks slopy when worn out or even tucked in. Needles to say this ... fit me well in the lenght and shoulders fit with plenty of room to move, while still maintaining a "lean" look. great job BR....
Great ... -- for one wear
These shirts are great but if you're going to get black, 1/2 the color will wash out on first wash. Yes I wear a lot of black. Yes we know how to wash it. Pretty much unusable after one wash - max two. I prob have 6 of these shirts bought off the rack for same day use, after that, it's over.
Was hoping for something better than this
Unfortuneately I have to agree with the prior two not so good reviews. Fabric was very thin and for a large, I just made it in, not a great look in general. The combination linen and cotton shirts at old navy for less than half the price are way better than these. The only thing about the old navy shirts is you would need to have the bottoms trimmed to make them a straight across the bottom to wear for the outside look. I've had that done before for [$], and it's worth it.
I was disappointed when the shirts arrived. I still have a few of these shirts from a few years ago. I wear a size SMALL, and they fit and are in great condition, just showing a little bit of wear from dry cleaning. The MEDIUMS that I just ordered and received are way too tight! I don't remember reading that these are slim fit. Not everyone is an anorexic looking model who stands 6'2"!

Slim ... not people
I get the impression from reading the other posts that "slim fit" for other companies means for a skinny person, not simply more tailored. I am an athletic 42 chest - 32 waist, 5'11 170lbs, big through the arms and shoulders. I can't normally wear other companies' "slim fit" shirts because they either completely choke me at the neck or become ridiculous at the collar by the time I find a shoulder/arm I can fit in. The M fits like Daniel Craig's shirts in James Bond with slight space at the cuffs and neck for proper venting. I wear them with a tie for work, then take it off in the evening for happy hours. Perhaps folks have gotten used to a collar choking them in order for it to fit elsewhere, but that's not what it is supposed to do - and these don't. I highly recommend them for normal to athletic build guys who want something that fits better than the average balloon ... Skinny guys may have to look elsewhere - not sure.
Great!
My fiancee loves these shirts. We have them in powder blue, mint, white, and grey. He is a tall, 6'4, and skinny, and these slim fit size L shirts fit perfectly and have a perfect sleeve length. The are thicker than the regular cotton shirts, with a texture and a very slight sheen to them. Also, he loves the french cuffs on these. Altogether a classy ... seems to be wearing well when washed. My only reservation is that they do not come with extra buttons for the cuffs, which is too bad since they are a very easily lost button.
Perfect fit for me, but make sure you try it on in store first!
I wanted to address some points that seem to be reoccuring: 1) [...] 2) THESE WILL SHRINK! When I tried this on, there was some slight ballooning at the tuck in point; however, after washing and drying, it has shrunk a bit. I would compare the fit to the Express Fitted Stretch shirts now (very slim). 3) If you want the shirts to look pressed, make sure they are hung up IMMEDIATELY (while they are still warm) out of the dryer and allowed to hang on a solid hanger (to preserve the silhoette of the ... buttoned, overnight. The next morning, there will be no visible wrinkles, and clear, defined press lines on the sleeves... 4) SUMMARY: These are great shirts for guys that have a v taper body shape.
Excellent Shirts
I saw these shirts in a BR store and was impressed with the beautiful weave of the fabric, so I ordered 2 when I saw an online sale. One has french cuffs, one does not. They have a great athletic fit. The non iron promise is true; they come out of the dryer looking crisp. Wish all BR shirts were non iron.
Slim Fit dress shirts
I now only purchase dress shirts from Banana Republic as they are true to size and I don't have any excess baggage. These shirts are perfect for in shape smaller framed men.
perfect color
I own several BR non iron shirts and the blue slim fit is my favorite. It's a really nice color and goes with pretty much everything. I can't go back to normal dress shirts. These are too good, even if they're a little pricey. No ironing, and better yet, no dry cleaning required. The only problem is they sell out fast, so it's best to get them as soon as a "full priced item" sale comes along. Banana Republic usually comes through with some good sales every few weeks. And I for one welcome our new insect overlords. I'd like to remind them that as a trusted TV personality, I can be helpful in rounding up others to toil in their underground sugar caves.
Wish I had a dozen!
This ... beautiful. The texture, color and fit are perfect. Don't listen to any naysayers about the slimness of it. You don't want a skin tight ... has a nice tailored fit to the body with the correct sleeve length for wear with a suit jacket. I'm always amazed how their non iron shirts really don't need ironing! Just wash and wear. I'm ruined for other shirts now and won't buy anything else.
A new favorite dress ...
My wife got me one of these shirts for my birthday and it fit life it was made for me. The textured white ... first I bought for myself, and l like everything about it. I would like one of these shirts for every day of the week. I have been wearing so called "slim fit" shirts from another company and will be phasing those baggy shirts out of my collection. I would give five stars, but I miss a pocket sometimes and would like to see the price lowered by about $20.
Wish it was slimmer and heavier
Overall this a good dress ... but I was hoping the material would be a bit thicker and that the cut would be a little slimmer. As others have mentioned, this slim fit is not as slim as the stretch cotton shirts and BR slim fit shirts in general don't seem as trim as other stores. It would be nice if BR offered size options for neck and sleeves on their dress shirts.
Slim fit is loose fit, rough fabric, not really non iron
I was disappointed when I received this ... BR's products have become a lot worse in the quality department, especially as more and more manufacturing moves to China. The fabric is rough. It isn't necessarily non iron and wrinkles very easily, negating the convenience factor. The slim fit size M used to be slimmer and collar was tighter. The waist is not very fitted at all and the collar is nearly 16.25" now, up from 15.75-16" on previous shirts. I used to take a tall since the sleeve used to be 1" shorter, too. Regular length sleeves are now 35" (which is OK because I'm a 16-35). I recently tried the non iron royal oxford w/French cuff and those are much nicer, except the M tall has 36" sleeves. While these shirts are on sale for ~[$], I will likely go with a different maker in the future since this feels cheap. It'll be the ... wear when I don't have anything else ironed.
Shirts shrink, BR losing its quality?
I've been buying BR shirts regularly for years now, and I'm extremely disappointed with the quality of their new shirts. Complaint 1: I used to pick S right off the rack, but they've clearly changed the size of their shirts. S hardly fits, and M is too big. Complaint 2: Even though they've changed the fitting for these shirts, they WILL SHRINK. I've never had a BR ... shrink and for what they cost, its expensive to lose a bunch of shirts right after you wash them. BR, if you're listening, please try to bring the quality and the fitting back!
