mens relaxed fit pants - reviews

Great versatile pantsMy husband loves the old Dawson chino as it seems to be the only pants with relaxed legs that BR offers. He has very athletic legs and the other fits (modern/straight) are just to tight in the the thighs. I love the new style of these chinos b/c the leg is still relaxed, but not quite as baggy as the previous version so he can wear these to work too. We got them in several colors, many look different in person than online.

Great fitting pantsI enjoy pants that are truely relaxed fit. My job requires that I bend forward at the waist and I need pants that are relaxed enough to not tear. These pants fit the bill.

Comfortable Dawsons! My son would only wear blue jeans until he discovered the Dawson relaxed fit chinos, now he rarely wears jeans. The Dawsons are so comfortable for him and have an excellent range of shades available. I noticed, however, with the last two pair purchased that the cut has changed. The legs are wider and perhaps the overall fit is more "relaxed" but not to the point of looking sloppy or "bell bottomish" as other reviewers have indicated. The quality of these pants have been consistently good and they hold up quite well over time.

Men''s New Relaxed Dawson Fit ChinosI purchased these pants for my son in-law for Christmas based on the description of fit and picture alone, knowing his build, etc. -- he had never tried them on previously. They ... perfectly and look great! They have a relaxed, but stylish cut, suiting his build perfectly, and are extremely comfortable. These pants will be a very versatile addition to his wardrobe. I am so happy with this purchase!

Just what I was looking forI was looking for a good pair of casual pants for work and was tired of khakis. These are really comfortable and ... well. The relaxed ... just right if you're looking for a casual look.

Great casual work pantsThese pants ... my husband perfectly. They were a little longer than usual, but not detrimentally so. The ... relaxed and the material seems like a good quality. They are great for a business casual workplace and we will be ordering in more colors.

Very BaggyI've always leaned more towards wearing "relaxed fit" pants because I don't like pants being too tight around my thighs... in which case these are certainly not tight. The waist fits fine, the length was slightly short... but the pants were much more relaxed than many other pants I've ever purchased. I believe they were true to their size, but I would just recommend taking the word "relaxed" seriously upon ordering.

A Little Too Snug for Relaxed Fit.The new Dawson is a little too snug for relaxed fit. Prefer the previous Relaxed Fit. The fabric feels great though.

Old ones are betterI put on an 'old' pair of banana chinos this morning for work and was blown away by the difference. Even at 4+ years old, these pants still look and feel great and have remained the correct length. I have a pair each of the new relaxed fit and straight fit pants. Both of them have shrunk so badly that they're nearly unwearable. All have been cared for just as the older pair. The newer versions feel 'cheaper' to me, as well. Unfortunately, I feel as if I need to find a new store to buy chinos from.

Dawson Chino''s - what happened to the pants I used to love?!?!?I've been a loyal Banana Republic shopper for years. While their clothes are by no means high fashion, they make the perfect office attire for those of use who aren't required to wear suits on a daily basis. While I mix up my shirts between various brands, I've been extremely loyal to Banana Republic when it comes to pants - both khaki's and dressier wool pants. My favorite over the years have been their Dawson style chino and pants. However, that may soon change. My first complaint comes from their lack of maintaining quality control - in both the lifespan of the pants, as well as keeping sizes the same. What I mean by that is that I have been a 34 x 34 since I can remember. Lately though, one pair will fit as they historically have, the next are like an inch smaller in the waist....it's like the machines they use to fit the waist isn't updated or something and it produces all kinds of variations between the same sizes. I've noticed that this is a standard complaint in reading other reviews on the Dawson chinos. They've also widened the leg and what once used to be the the perfect relaxed fit chino, is now more of a baggy mess. So sad because I loved this cut for so many years. My guess is that due to the economy, certain factors had to be adjusted, which is resulting in poor quality control and output measures :(
Changed style?I purchased the exact same fit less than a year ago in the same size. Thought I would purchase a second pair in khaki, but to my surprise BR has changed their idea of "relaxed" fit. The pants are way too tight in the thigh. They felt like skinny jeans. Definitely returning and never buying BR's idea of relaxed fit again. 6'4", 200lbs for what its worth.
