Luv these pants
As others have written, these are the only pants I'll buy. I still have & wear my Dawson pants that I bought over 10 years ago. They fit me well. I like the boot cut & flare at the bottom to hide my large shoes/feet. Great pants.

Great fitting pants
I enjoy pants that are truely relaxed fit. My job requires that I bend forward at the waist and I need pants that are relaxed enough to not tear. These ... fit the bill.

Purchased the ... replace another pair. I haven't laundered them yet so I don't know about shrinkage. I'm in the What I really need is a pat that is 31 inches long but companies do not have that length so I bought the 32s. They seem about an inch long(LOL) The fabric is good and the pant attractive.

the pants are great, they fit nicely and look just as good, my only dislke about the pants is the opening at the bottom of the pants. its a bit big (large opening).

Very Baggy
I've always leaned more towards wearing "relaxed fit" pants because I don't like pants being too tight around my thighs... in which case these are certainly not tight. The waist fits fine, the length was slightly short... but the pants were much more relaxed than many other pants I've ever purchased. I believe they were true to their size, but I would just recommend taking the word "relaxed" seriously upon ordering.

Why change it?
I have been buying these ... few years now. They have been the best Chinos I have ever owned. Why has BR changed the waist and rise of this pant? These where perfect for the working adult. Now they have lowered the waist and rise of the pant and made them for the teenagers and college kids. Most of us working adults can't and don't want to wear low waist & rise ... work or anywhere else for that matter. I will not buy this pant anymore. BR should just make another pant to appeal to the younger customers and bring back the original Dawson. BR please bring back my favorite Dawson Chinos.

Dawson Chino''s - what happened to the pants I used to love?!?!?
I've been a loyal Banana Republic shopper for years. While their clothes are by no means high fashion, they make the perfect office attire for those of use who aren't required to wear suits on a daily basis. While I mix up my shirts between various brands, I've been extremely loyal to Banana Republic when it comes to pants - both khaki's and dressier wool pants. My favorite over the years have been their Dawson style chino and pants. However, that may soon change. My first complaint comes from their lack of maintaining quality control - in both the lifespan of the pants, as well as keeping sizes the same. What I mean by that is that I have been a 34 x 34 since I can remember. Lately though, one pair will fit as they historically have, the next are like an inch smaller in the waist....it's like the machines they use to fit the waist isn't updated or something and it produces all kinds of variations between the same sizes. I've noticed that this is a standard complaint in reading other reviews on the Dawson chinos. They've also widened the leg and what once used to be the the perfect relaxed fit chino, is now more of a baggy mess. So sad because I loved this cut for so many years. My guess is that due to the economy, certain factors had to be adjusted, which is resulting in poor quality control and output measures :(

no crotch room
pants are uncomfortable - no room in the crotch and thus uncomfortable and unwearable. Additionally the waist is too small. I bough shorts from BR which fit fine in both crotch and waist, but same sized pants are horrible. I'm done buying pants from BR.

Inconsistant sizing
If I could, I would mark the overall size of these ... all over-the place. For one, they are going to shrink, a lot. my size 32x32 went to a 31x29 after just one washing on their recommended settings. I measured this with a tape measure. Why can't BR just pre shrink their clothing? Also, while this is supposed to be a relaxed fit pant, the leg openings are way too wide, it seriously feels like I'm wearing parachute ... Chinos aren't supposed to be extra boot cut. GAP brands quality and consistency has dropped, I'll be looking at other brands for now on.
