versatile soft ... watch the inseam though
These pants will be slim for more athletic guys, but they are as I expected in this category. Regarding length, I have noticed some inconsistency with BR ... Some 32" dress ... run a little long on me, while my older 32" BR dress ... good fit. However, casual BR ... 32" length are short on me, these included.

doesn''t fit my body
Nice fabric and workmanship, but these jeans do not work for me. The overall waist is the right size, but the cut is bad; when I bend over, the rear of the pants pull down past my buttocks. The fit through the thighs is okay, but the leg opening is a bit too wide. I ordered 30 inch length, but these pants are longer than that. I measured the inseam and it's almost 32 inches long. (I've bought a couple chinos from BR in the past, and they were 1/2 inch and one inch shorter, respectively, than what they were supposed to be. Clearly BR has some quality control issues when it comes to sizing.) I bought these pants online because BR does not carry 38x30 pants in the store, but however they were marked, I still ended up with 32 inseam jeans. I could kind of deal with the length issue (still, not ideal), but how these pants basically come off in the behind just does not work. These pants may fit somebody okay, but not me. I've never had any pair of pants or jeans pull down in the back like these do.

Inconsistent Length
I own several BR shirts and I really like the quality. So, I went to the BR store at the mall looking for some casual pants that fit. The store does not carry my size (31x34), but I saw that the size was available here online. I ordered 3 pair of the 31x34 Gavin fit Chino pants. When the pants arrived I began to try them on. With the first pair I was surprised to see that the length was right on the border of being too short. I opened up the other two pair of pants and noticed one of them appeared to be quite a bit shorter. So, I got out a tape measure to see what the truth is. Well, in fact, one pair of pants is a full 1" shorter than the other two pair. And, the longest pair of pants only measures 32.5" in the inseam. My compassionate response it to feel genuinely sorry for the person at Banana Republic responsible for Quality Assurance. It amazes me in today's age that consistently producing a pair of pants that measure the length as advertised. The quality of the material appears to be nice, but I am frustrated by having to go through the process of returning these pants and hoping for ones that actually meet expectations.
