Finally - boot cut chino''s are BACK!
Finally boot cut chino's are BACK! 4 or 5 years ago BR, GAP, and Old Navy carried boot cut khakis or chino's. Boot cut is my favorite style and I have not been able to find them for a few years. I didn't hesitate when i saw them on the BR website - i bought 2 pair.. i have since purchased 2 more. They fit great and are great quality. It's about time the designers and buyers realized that the entire world doesn't wear skinny ...

i bought this ... 3 different colors: khaki, light brown and black. they all fit the same and fit nicely, and are very comfortable. it is a nice, soft feel to it which makes it comfortable. the knock on these pants is that it has really wide leg openings, but its a boot cut chino. its not really a classic dress ... so i'm not sure why its getting so much flack. if it happens to be too wide at the leg openings, just bring it to a tailor and then can make it smaller. either way i love these ...

Perfect ...
My husband already owned a pair of these ... khaki and loved them, so I bought them in black as well. He loves the fit and finds them very comfortable, and he looked amazing in the dark ... grey BR button down. They made him look very slim and streamlined his body far more than jeans do. He (and I) highly recommend them!

i love these pants
i read many of the reviews about the new bootcut chinos and almost didn't purchase, but i'm glad i did. it is surprisingly difficult to find a pair of bootcut casual pants from various ... clothing stores. even more difficult to find them in colors other than khaki. i will admit that these pants are a little bit roomier than i thought it would be, but i think if i ordered a size smaller, they would be perfect. however, the light, slightly roomier size is perfect for keeping me cool in the hot summer weather. i wear these pants to work sometimes 2-3x a week because they are so comfy, yet have a sophisticated casual look. i gave these pants only 4 stars only because of the limit in color options; BR please release in more summer colors: light green, pink/red, yellow, light blue.

Exellent if you have size 12+ feet
It's always hard to find khakis that will fit around your shoes if you have big feet. These ... solve that problem. The fit is a bit different, but very good if you have an athletic build (hard to find flat front ... fit well some times). Order a down a waist size for a better fit.

color is off as usual
i have always been a fan of the BR bootcut chinos so i was glad when they brought them back. however, the cut is inconsistent from one color to another AND the moose brown, is very misleading on the website. the color is actually more of a greenish khaki. come on banana youre losing my faith! and bring back the bootcut in stone and navy and stop making so many varieties of "brown!"

Great fit but big on leg opening - will have it tailored.
THESE CHINOS HAVE TWO ISSUES. First, I love the fit of these chinos until I think about the leg openings. They truly are bell bottoms if one wears regular shoes or sneakers. I wear the denim bootlegs that are also described as having larger leg openings and they're nowhere as near as big looking as these khakis. I believe the problem is that they were constructed in such a way that the leg opening begnis to flare out at the knee and not at the calf, which is an observation I've made with many bootleg ... only way these chinos look good is with boots on, and obviously, bootlegs ... should be more versatile than this. Even with this legitimate gripe/complaint, I'll be keeping the chinos and have ordered another because they feel incredible and the leg opening issue isn't something a good tailor can't fix. The other issue I think is of concern is with the color. I bought the moose brown and the chinos I received looked almost identical in color to the charleston brown, although the packaging and tags identified it as moose brown. The same occurred with the "khaki" ones I bought, which look exactly like the acorn chinos. It appears that one should expect to receive a color one level darker than the one you order.

Where are the ORIGINAL Banana Republic bootcut khakis? Too darn baggy.
Banana Republic was the first brand to carry bootcut khakis and chinos and dress ... started wearing them since 2000. They were low rise, slim or straight in the thigh and slightly wider at the bottom opening. They had fit somewhat like the famous Diesel Zathan jeans. Over the past few years, they have been replaced by a baggy, too casual, average looking chino more designed for a skateboarder than a BR gentleman. Why ruin a previously excellent and hugely popular design? And why make them only in a casual heavy chino? If BR was smart, they would revert back to the original slimmer bootcut and in different varieties of wear (dress, casual, semi dress). The key is to keep the rise low, the thigh straight/slim, and the bottoms just slightly wider than normal Dawson regular fit. Why is this so hard for the designers to understand? Banana should again re emerge as the bootfit champion and not simply follow the slim modern fit tailored ... which all other stores like Jcrew and Polo carry. The key is to create the trend, NOT follow it. BR used to create it...

These chino''s have changed
I had to share this. I purchased the khaki version of these a few years back and they're literally my favorite pair. I thought I would again purchase them (the black ver), same size, same cut/version 36x32, and wow was I surprised! Even though they are the EXACT same chino's, this black version is not the same material as my khaki version! I understand things change but they did not for the better on this pair of chino's and I could not be more disappointed. This black version feels like velvet and Everything sticks to them, lint, hair, you can even brush the fabric with your hand and create different shades like with a microfiber couch; you know what I mean?! Very disappointed with these and since I've worn them and washed them thinking they may correct themselves or get better, now I'm stuck with them. Garage sale!
