Gavin khaki slacks - reviews

Go to PantsI started with three pairs of the Dawson Chinos last year. I liked them so much I decided to add the Gavin straight fit to my wardrobe. I now wear the acorn and the British khaki(?) color on a weekly basis. They look great with dress shirts, polos, and basic tees. The fit is obviously slightly narrower than the Dawson relaxed fit, but they are in no way a super slim fit. I'm 5'10" 150 lbs and have just enough room in all the important areas for the ups- and downs- of retail work. My favorite feature of the Gavin pants are the on seam pockets. I now wish all my pants had this.

Best Pants EverThese are the only work pants I buy. I've had about a dozen pairs so far. I only wish they would go on sale once in a while (gavin chinos are exempt from pretty much every BR sale).

GavinThese ... Chinos are great, They look great and are super comfortable. I use to wear dockers which do not have a good fit for me at all. I wear these in the office and to go out casual and they do the job. I just purchase 3 new pair black, wood ash and charlston brown the lenghts are perfect for me since i am on the short side so the 30 inseam is perfect. For the price you cant go wrong.

Great Pair of PantsI'm a devoted fan of the Gavin Chino. The fit is tailored just enough for my liking. This color is as expected and the fit was true to size. I recommend this and all chino pants; they're very versatile: casual day at work, casual, going out. The Gavin Chino is a must have wardrobe unit.

Very Versatile Chino PantsThis is my third BR Gavin pant (size 33" x 30") and I have been very satisfied with them although each time I have to shorten the inseam length by one inch - that doesn't lower my satisfaction rating one bit. Along with this buy, I also ordered one pair of the Emerson chino with the same size as the Gavin. After trying it on I unexpectedly got a compliment from my wife who likes both the material, the fit as well as the style of the Emerson. In my opinion, the Emerson fits me snugly while the Gavin gives me more comfort in the butt and legs.

Good pants, but...I really like these pants, but I'm increasingly frustrated by the inconsistency of the inseams. I have previously purchased two pairs of these pants (Gavin chinos) in the same size (33 x 30) and both were too short. One pair was 2" shorter than labeled and the second pair was 2.5" shorter than labeled. I then tried purchasing a third pair, but this time ordered 33 x 32 thinking I would compensate for what seemed to be a fairly consistent pattern in poorly labeled inseams. Naturally, this pair is exactly as labeled and the inseam is almost exactly 32". I've called customer service a couple of times to ask about this issue and they claim to have never heard anyone complain about this. I find this hard to believe as several other people seem to have complained about the exact same issue. So just a word of warning---if you can try these in on the store first, do so. Once you found the right size I think you'll love these pants, but getting to that point is a pain.

experience with Gavin ChinoI purchase 2 pair of these Gavin pants 34/30 in Stone color and Britsh Khaki they both fit perfect and I love them , but the reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because I tried 2 other colors Black and Moose Brown and neither one fit the same! to tight on waist and too short on the Lenght. Quality control needs to take a look at these post because they are loosing Money on Customers big time. I wear these mostly at work in the office.

Sizing issuesI'm reviewing these specific pants, but inconsistent sizing seems to be an overall issue with Banana. What's the point of having standard fits (Gavin, Dawson, etc) if every pair fits differently? Too small. Quality when they fit is good though.

Be careful of inconsistent sizingOrdered two Gavin pant colors (acorn and moose brown? - i believe these were the color names). Both 33x34. The acorn fit well; however, the moose brown were far too large. I actually got two pair of the moose browns - one pair was extremely big, both in the waist and length. They were more like a 36x36 and extremely baggy in the pant legs. The other pair was still way off, but not nearly as bad. Obviously they both got returned. I purchased two 33x34 acorns at my local store, they fit great. Also: the acorns are actually darker than they appear online. They look great, and are an improvement over the previous khaki color offered by BR. However the moose brown looks kind olive green in certain light. Didn't like it.

pants too shortI really like the gavin straight cut pants. I have 6 pairs and ordered some more before a work trip. The online deliver was good and onetime. however i packed them after i took the tags off and arrived houston and went to put them on and they were too short. 36x34 is my normal size on the other 6 pairs. i held the new pair next to my previous pair and the new pair was at least 4 to 6 inches shorter than my other pair. It appeared that the new pants were mis labeled. Luckily I am staying at the houston galleria so on the weekend I walked to the banana republic store and showed the manager the problem. He quickly apologized and swapped them out for a proper pair with no tags and no receipt which i appreciated very much.. a painless return and swap.. I will continue to buy more BR online and love the ...
Epic FailOrdered 2 pairs of Gavin Chinos in 28X32...got the pants, but the lengths were only 30 although the tag says the pants have a length of 32. Very misleading. Very Dissapointed
