Awesome ... price
These ... look great, feel great and fit just right. They give you a good look; while still remaining masculine, I read some reviews about "made in mexico" but actually Mexico is one of the best denim manufacturing countries. Levis has been made in mexico forever. You don't need to overpay for ... made by Unionized california labor.

It's taken me a few decades to learn how to dress like a grown up, so it's just dawning on me that squeezing into skinny ... bad idea for all concerned. BR straight ... whatever reason, give me the right fit without making parts of me feel like they're being temporarily shifted around for vanity's sake, and it still looks good. I appreciate the thickness of the denim (which makes it durable), as well as its feel.

Not the same ...
I've been buying these black stone washed straight leg ... since 2005, and although they underwent some minor changes over the years, they were still easily identifiable as "the same" ... Not the case anymore. Manufacturing has shifted from Macau (China) to Mexico, and the denim is coarse and of lower quality (think The Gap) as is the dye work; you can smell the dye as much as see it! Fake wear markings and pressed wrinkles cover the ... no where near subtle. As for hardware, the rivets are fine, there's the addition of a leather tag which I don't mind, but then there's also a blindingly bright gold button replacing the far more tasteful tarnished steel. These ... have been my staple as only Banana Republic Straight leg ... seem to avoid size/fit and excessive aging gimmics. It's too bad they just look like a pair of Gap ... now.

Current design and quality noticeably worse
It had been a couple years since I bought this particular pair of BR ... read all the reviews regarding the changes made and so I knew in advance I wouldn't be getting a product identical to the one I previously purchased. And unfortunately, as other reviewers have pointed out, the overall quality of these ... has noticeably declined. Both the inferior quality of the denim and changes to the cut take this current incarnation of the product a step backward. I understand the need, or in some cases simply the inclination, to make changes in order to stay current with fashion trends. But these recent changes have not resulted in a more desirable product. Just one that feels and looks more cheaply made. BR truly had an overall excellent product a couple years ago with these ... urge them to return to the design and quality of materials that made these ... favorite of so many people. However, so as not to be completely negative about these ... overall fit is still okay. In my case I did not have an issue with needing to go one waist size down in comparison to the waist size of the previous generation.

Very low quality denim
The recession is clearly effecting quality. The quality of denim is nothing like the quality they used for the same ... less than two season ago. Very cheesy and cheap. And they are asking [$]for these ... would rather spend an extra 30 or so dollars and go to A&F and buy good quality denim. Yes BR, you skimped on these ... admit it. . . .

Great Denim Trouser!
I first bought a pair of denim trousers from a different retailer (AT) this past Fall before these became available. The fit was okay - I settled and they sat in my closet tags on never worn. Then I saw these online - purchased them and the fit was PERFECT. They are a little long which I find to be great because they look fabulous with my high heel boots. Needless to say, the AT denim trousers were returned. Love these pants - they are my go to when I want to dress up a denim outfit!

Great ... curvy girls
Love these ... Curvy girls, do not be distracted by the 'straight through the hip and thigh' description, they fit perfectly. I got the 12, when I'd normally wear a 10 curvy. Smart enough to wear out at night, comfortable to wear all day. Good weight denim and perhaps slightly long for flat boots and slushy puddles but they're a keeper. Thank you BR.

Love these pants!!!
I absolutely love these denim trousers. I have a couple of other pairs but these fit the best by far. Very flattering in the dark color and so versitile they can be worn to work or out. Super comfortable and will be a key piece for fall.

great pants
These are great if you have a business casual environment - the nice dark denim and clean fit are good for office, or you could dress them up and wear out to dinner. The size is pretty good - I'm 5'4 and 120ish lbs - they were a little tight in the rear, but the short length was just perfect. Would definitely recommend them - cute and versatile.

Great tailored look!
These are the perfect denim trouser. The cut is flattering and the fabric is thick and smooth which hangs like a trouser should hang. The color is deep but not blackish. I have been looking for a while for the right denim trouser and...I FOUND THEM!

Best ... Ever BR!! Way to go!!
I have been searching for months for a nice pair of ... Friday at work. I've tried premium denim brands all over the price spectrum and the fit and look came nowhere near these trousers!! I' 5'10", ordered the tall and they're the perfect length. They hold their shape after hours of sitting at my desk too! LOVE THEM!!!!

Awesome pants!
All the other reviews were true about these trouser ... Honestly, they are so flattering and really lengthen the legs. The dark denim is uniform with no fading, which is hard to find now days. The pants are a bit of a slimmer fit, but in a good way. I have a curvy figure, but these seem to work and hold everything in just right. I am 5'5" and got the short length and they are perfect with a pair of heels. For once I don't have to have them altered. I also have a small waist in comparison to my hips and behind and these have no gaping. They are a bit higher wasted and not your typical low cut ... love everything about these pants and hope that BR continues to make them for a long time.

Want a flattering ... No muffin top here!
I orderd the white and the dark indigo denim trousers and found that I had to go up a size in the indigo denim. The white pants fit perfect and are true to size. These pants are very flattering, as I have received compliments every time I wear them and i appreciate the long length as i am over 6 foot tall and need ir!

i love the dark wash of these ... They dress up or go casual. Can't tell you how well they hold their color, however. I couldn't wait to wear them and didn't wash them first. Oops. The fabric is thin; not your traditional denim; for me this was a plus. Easier to move in at my job which has lots of physical requirement. These pants are true to size, though I could've used an extra inch or two in length to wear them with heels. I'm 5'8" and usually always need an extra inch.

Work Appropriate ...
These ... fit really well and I'm a hard to fit body type -- a short, size 16, curvy girl. I ordered a 16 Petite and they are just right in the length for someone 5' 4" tall like me. They are not too short nor too long and are the perfect height for a small heel or boot. The ... great for casual Fridays at work, but also work for weekends and dressier evening events. I only wish they were in a slightly heavier weight of denim so they wouldn't show wrinkles from hours of sitting at a desk.
