Don''t buy this cheap suit.
I am a big fan of Banana Suits. I own about 15 of them. I wanted this one because I needed a new solid Navy Suit. I have never bought a suit from Banana Republic before and returned it until I purchased this one. The material looked very cheap and stretched like a pair of Spandex. Even though it fitted me fine it looked like it would wrinkle very easy and looked cheap. Save your time and buy another suit. I just received the Mad Men suit and it looks great!

Highly Versatile. A must have.
These pants are amazing! Extremely versatile. Very comfortable and they're virtually wrinkle proof. I've been searching for a nice pair or black dress slacks for work and business casual occasions... i have finally found them! I've already received numerous complements on them... I'm a physician and work at least 12 hrs a day... even after wearing these pants for >12hrs, they still looked as good as when I first put them on in the AM. After reading some of the reviews, I was worried... but these pants have not let me down. Extremely well made... as for the feel of the material, if you've ever purchased wool/spandex blend, you'll know how the material will feel. As for size, I'm a size 35 waist for BR pants and I ordered these in a 35 waist and they fit perfectly... as for length, I went one size longer than I normally get and they're fine... so I might suggest getting one size longer...
Pants are great
I had very similar pants as part of my private school uniform when I was a kid. Purchased these pants to go with a navy blazer and they will do that nicely. Although, I expected a more fitted bottom and less flare on the leg I am happy with them. The pants are replacing suit pants that were very wide and pleated. So, now I have a great use of a good blue suit jacket with these pants. I will be wearing them in June to a beach wedding and the half lining in the legs will make the pants fit well and breath well in the summer heat. Nice.
Great Pants
These pants were available 4 years ago and I loved them. After ruining them I was upset to find out they were not available any more until now. These are the best pants. The material allows you to move around as though you were wearing sweat pants. I am a big guy and these pants are true to size. They are not snug on the waist, thigh or rear. Perfect pants. Banana needs to match a suit jacket and I would buy up the collection.

Great Work Pants
These are very high quality wool work pants. They fit true to size, not too slim and not too tight. The waist sits very comfortably and the legs are cut straight throughout, not baggy. I use these for work in a business casual setting and would recommend these for work or going out. Great details, and made with extremely high quality. Definitely recommend these pants to any guy needing nice slacks to go on a date or for the office!
Finally... they''re back!
Several years ago, I had a closet full of BR stretch wool dress pants. They were perfect for the office and for heading out afterward - my favorite pants. Then... they dissappeared. Gone seemingly forever. I tried several of BR's similar (100% wool) replacement models and they have all been donated to charity as they just weren't the same: bad fitting, uncomfortable and generally sad replacements for my favorite pants.... but now they're back! Comfortable, light weight, relaxed fit... great all around pants that look fantastic. Thank you BR!
Classic Fit Sizes???
These ... very nice, but what has happened to BR and sizing? I have a 28" waist and have found that the only 28" waist ... BR makes any longer are 28x30- if they even make a particular style in a 28" waist. Few other companies do, so why not have that edge??? Look around online. This is a real problem for a lot of men 18-55. I wear a 28x32 and can't find ... These Classic Fit ... among the few BR styles left that still come with 28" waist and 32" inseam. Can you PLEASE get back on track with the length options? There are some of us out here who used to count on your sizes. If it had to be one or the other (which it doesn't), how about longer? A tailor can always make them shorter, but I've yet to meet one who can add what isn't there successfully.

The material seems to be of very good quality. It's idea for business casual. I can see them lasting a while. It's much better than the pictures
Bring Back the Stretch
Overall, pants are as expected; however, they are noted online as straight fit, yet when received state "classic fit" with straight leg. The stretch is nice, but a little more work on the fit would help. Of the 4 pairs purchased, 3 are fine but the 4th has it's own long rise measurement. Quality control must be maintained, especially if you expect to drive your online business. Please return to previous stretch wool quality as this is a little thin.
Inconsistent Sizing
I ordered a replacement pair of these classic dress pants. They are the exact same item and size that I purchase every time. However, the new ... fit much smaller than my previous pair despite being the same size. Inconsistencies in sizing are becoming more and more frequent as I order from Banana's online shop. It is disappointing and exhausting to order online and still have to go to the mall to return my ... I've never received an apology from a clerk at the malls either. The worst example of such inconsistencies is when I ordered three different colors of the exact same sized cotton Dawson dress ... All three of them fit differently. Only one did not have to be returned. I love Banana's clothes when they fit. For the money it costs for mass produced mediocre dress clothes, you would think they could at least be rigorous and thorough when it comes to their sizing.
Going Back - Poor fit
Like others reviewing this product, I received my pants, purchased on line and the fit was all wrong. They are not the Classic Fit as labeled. I have purchased other Classic Fit wool pants in the recent past and these pants I just received fit more like a slim or tailored fit. I am not a big guy (5’11”, 165 lbs) and these were tight in the thigh and across the rear. I am very disappointed in the sizing quality of BR pants in all.
I purchased these on line while on sale and with a coupon. I returned them to the store but there was no in stock replacement at the store to swap them with nor did the sales associate offer to order a replacement pair for me at the price I paid. Now if I want them still, I will need to purchase as a full priced item. What is up with that BR? I am not pleased. BR has wasted my time as I had to go to the store to return them.
To all, do not purchase these pants on line. The fit appears to be hit or miss.

Nice ... slim, tall men
These ... my 6'5 husband perfectly. The style is modern and appropriate for his semi casual workplace. The fabric is of medium weight and washed well. I hung them to dry to avoid shrinkage. We are very pleased to find ... "tall" with out being "Big and Tall"or styled for older gentlemen. We will be ordering more in the future.

I bought these for my teenage son (just going from kids size to mens) and he likes them, but I think they seem a little short. I recommend sizing up on the length. He really likes the ... though, very slim, but comfortable. He has a slim build, so I don't know if they would work for everyone

Comfortable pair of business casual ...
I first started looking into BR Chinos when i needed some more dressy ... very happy with the Gavin as it is looser yet still looks dressy. I prefer looser clothing and these ... perfect. I was hoping to find khaki style ... were loose fitting and these were perfect. They aren't super baggy but aren't tight. I thought they were a perfect middle ground. I bought 4 pairs and love them.
VERY Disappointed
I hate to write a negative review as I'm a loyal customer of BR but I could not have been more disappointed in these ... admit... the sizing is going to play a role "perhaps" ... but I got my usual 34x34 delivered yesterday and they HAD to have been more like a size 36x36. It was ridiculous. The thing is... it's not just the sizing was, of course, WAY off, but they are the baggiest ... have tried on since maybe 10 or 12 years ago! The rise was waaaay too long and around the hips and thighs, they fit more like a pair of classic Dockers or something to that effect as they bunched out and most certainly not straight or fitted whatsoever. My favorite is usually their boot cut chinos which.. if you pick out the right one's, are nice and slim all the way down with "just about" the perfect leg opening... more of a straight than flared. I was expecting something at least sort of similar but with a more narrow leg all the way down. Let me just say that "baggy" and "extremely tapered" are not a flattering fit. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and try a smaller size but I am not pleased whatsoever with these. I just hope it was the particular pair that I received. But then again, Banana needs to do something to get their sizing more consistent. This is not good business and whatever they need to do to fix this, they need to get it done. In my opinion too, they need to distance themselves from their other brands like GAP, Old Navy, etc... I never liked the marketing approach they went to a few years ago. I don't care how big and successful they are, if you're going to market to a mid higher level target, I think they need to show a little individualism. Ok, sorry to rant.. I'm just not pleased by the "cookie cutter" products they have spitting out. They are nice and heavy weight no doubt, which I give them credit for... but fit and consistency should be their main objective.

New Dawson Chinos
I am very pleased with the new Banana Republic Dawson chinos. I purchased the moose brown color. It appears a little darker than as pictured on the website. However, style, ... quality seem up to par and in line with Banana Republic's better offerings. That said, the Gavin chinos may offer a slightly more polished ... those looking for a business casual pairing. Of course, that will depend upon one's particular business.
Big relief
It has been a while since I have had ... well. I understand now why these ... don't go on sale when I get an email from BR. The ... give me plenty of room in the legs and just enough breathing room in the waist. The quality is superb. I love wearing them in the work place because they go with almost any shirt I own. This includes some of the shirts I bough from BR. I am back to looking my best business causal at work and even got some compliments from my coworkers. Thank you BR. You have earned yourself a new loyal customer.

Dawson ... chino
These are very comfy ... almost want to wear them every day. There is nothing to complain about, ... just right, not too loose not too tight either. Color is as expected and quality is just perfect. I recommend this model to everyone who has to look business casual and be comfortable at the same time.

Great Slightly Dressier Chinos
These are different than the Dawsons of a few years ago. Fabric is lighter, and now more of a stright ... beofre they were a relaxed or boot cut ... like the ones of old better, alas, with the odd size 31/34 not offered by many others I am still puchasing these. They are a bit dressier than the old ones, and are definitely good with a business shirt or a more casual look. My only complaint is wish fabric was heavier/thicker. And they could use more room in the rise.

Great Value
These ... great overall value for the quality and price. Not incredibly expensive, and the quality is superior to most chinos. I only wish they made more colors! If you notice on most of the sales recently, the Dawsons (including a few other lines) are always excluded - must mean they are pretty popular. They are extremely soft, especially after a few washes. The leg width is perfect -- not too baggy, not too tight. Great for business casual, going out on the weekends, and wearing around town. They are not the absolute best chinos, though, as they are a bit flimsy. If you want something better, try buying chinos made in the U.S. or Western Europe!
As long as BR is in the Dawson business, I'll remain as a customer. Thanks for a great product, BR.
