great ... I LOVE this ... so much that I bought 3. The black, gray, & navy. I have a difficult time finding a ... small enough in the waist, and yet roomy enough for hips/rear. This does it!! Very flattering & I like the lightweight wool. I am 5'9" & I ordered the tall. It is a perfect length, hits mid knee.
great basicI'm fuller in the hip area and the ... does a great job of covering my figure flaws.The slashed pockets came closed and that worked for me,although it is meant to be opened.I like to wear my ... my knees so I got it in tall . That did the trick for me. It's very versatile. It can be dressed up or down. Wear with all types of tops .That will set the tone for the look you're after. I've also worn it with a skinny belt for a polished look. I bought 2 black ( 1 to wear and 1 as a spare) there are never too many good black ... closet.I also got the gray one , a crisp white shirt and a navy blazer a look that will take you everywhere.It's a keeper.
My go to office ... I found this ... run true to size - I wear an 8 in other BR clothing, and the 8 is perfect in this ... - not too tight for work but flattering. I don't find it too short, either - I'm 5'10" and it hits a few inches above my knee. It is a high waisted pencil ... pictured, and it looks fantastic with a silky top tucked in, or with a sweater worn over it long. The material is wonderful quality and wrinkles little. I love, love this ... order the blazer to match.
Great ... sized right This is a great basic ... suit (with matching jacket) that I wear regularly to court, but you need to order up a size or two from your normal size. I wear an 8 in the jacket, but got a 12 tall for the ... fit that hits just above my knees and isn't form fitting. I have very long legs, but I think this is a common issue with this ... - I've seen interns walking around wearing the ... size that matches their jacket size, and they look like they're wearing a super tight mini ... Banana Republic, for the sake of professional women, fix your sizes!
Nice basic ... I think I like this skirt...I didn't realize how high up the waist would hit. It does not sit at the hip, but the placket in the front is up over my belly button, which is different. At 5'10 and 140 pounds, the 8 fit perfectly. I am usually either a 6 or an 8 in Banana. The material is nice and matches my other black wool suiting from Banana. It will look nice with a slim blouse tucked in or I can hide the high waist with a longer shirt or sweater.
Order a size up!I'm so glad I read the other reviews that said to order a size up! I normally wear a 10 and ordered a 10 in the jacket, 10 in the pants and 12 in the ... everything fit! The ... little higher waisted than expected but since I'll mostly be wearing it with the jacket, it doesn't really matter. In sum, perfectly nice suit ... but order up!
Good ... but not the greatest I ordered a size up and went from a regular to a tall and it fits pretty well. I'm 5'6" and 120lbs--and have no hips--and ordered a 2T based on the reviews on here, and I'm glad I did. I have a pencil ... suit from BR that I bought a little over a year ago (in a size 0R) that fits better than this one, but unfortunately, they don't make that one anymore and I need suits for interviews. The length hits right at the knees and it isn't too tight/too loose. It's not stellar, but does look nice with the jacket (which, by the way, I found to run large, not small). I also like where it sits on me (just below the belly button) and that it has a little breathing room for tucking in a shirt. Recommended if you need a good black interview suit (and can order it in a longer length than you'd normally buy!)
I read the previous reviews so I knew to go up a size.I would have liked to see your ... little longer.I bought a tall which compensated for that.The ... has tremendous versatility.Dress it up ,dress it down. I bought 2 black ( one for constant wear and one for a spare). Also bought the gray.I like that the fabric is lightweight.
Great skirt for office wear!I was trying to find a classic black wool skirt to wear with a BR Italian wool suit jacket I purchased earlier this year. I had to return my first skirt purchase - this definitely runs a FULL SIZE TOO SMALL. I normally wear between a 0-2 in ... could barely even fit into the 2. I'm 5'7" and this skirt runs a bit on the short side, atleast for office wear, so I suggest ordering the Tall. I'm disappointed that BR continues to make their suit ... much too short for office wear. Once I went up a size (the 4 fits great) and bought the Tall, I'm very happy with my purchase. Overall, the look is very professional and slimming, and almost perfectly matches the Italian wool black suit jacket I already own.
Poor fit, not flatteringTo put it in context: I'm 6'0 and a curvy/athletic shape. Ordered this a size up in a tall, and it is still much too tight across this hips and too short. In the picture it looks fairly straight, but on me the bottom of the ... tapers in quite a bit. I'm bummed because I have the jacket and pants to this suit and love them, and was hoping to add the ... but it is definitely not for me. Maybe someone with straighter hips could wear it (but come on BR, cut a ... flatter an hourglass shape!)
It must be me (or my hips)or my lack of same....this ... just didn't fit my rectangular frame. There were funny ripples across the front extending from hip to hip - its headed back to BR. The black stretch ... purchased in the same order (hedging my bets) was a keeper however!
