Great Feel!
Bought two, one in Navy blue and other in Khakis. Loved both, these are not your typical tailored fit pants so buy your size. I went up a number in the waist and ended up replacing them to my size (31x32) at a BR store near by. Overall quality and feel is very very good. Great choice for work attire.
Fit like a dream
BR tall sizes are always stylish and fit perfectly. The classic fit cotton dress pants are no exception. I can always count on BR. Thank you for keeping talls in mind.
Need 29L with a 30W or 31W
I don't understand why companies discriminate against folks who are 5'3"/5'4" and need a 29L pant but are slim and need a 29W-31W. BR either gives you a 30L or you have to drop down to a 28L but you can only get 28L with 28W. I am so tired of having pants hemmed because I can't find a place to buy something that fits. I love BR but you are killing me.
Very nice pants
I bought the Camel color ... they fit me very nice. I just wish they would make a Brown color in this ... But overall I highly recommend this ... very comfortable!
Nice Pants
I find tthese pants to be high quality and true to size 31W34L, even after washing, and very comfortable to wear. They fit higher on the waist than I prefer or that is in really style (and, no, I'm not into the look where pants are only covering part of the butt). But other than that, they are pretty much perfect. PS I also ourchased Classic Fit Solid Cotton and they fit slightly lower on the waist and Classic Fit Navy Pinstripe, which sit on the waist just as high as these and were 1/2" shorter.

The perfect cut pants with 1% stretch allows them to fit more cleanly and not restrict. The material is thin, but could be thinner - once upon a time Banana sold very thin cotton pants that wear like heaven and these are as close as possible - can we stop changing materials every year Banana? Please? Pretty Please? And of course I want dark dark brown, I can get light brown any time by washing aggressively.
chinos
The pants are great, but I was glad I tried them on in the store first. I normally wear a 36" waist, but these fit perfect at 35". Also, it would be nice if the in store associates could just order online for me instead of putting me on the phone with someone else and having to give that person my credit card. Other than that, the pants are great and the in store associate was good.
Great work pants
I bought a couple of these cotton slacks for those more casual days at work and they are perfect! Not too dressy and not too casual like a regular khaki or chino might be.
read label carefully
These look really nice on but they are dry clean only. There is another item in mens pants with the exact same name "Classic fit cotton dress pant" and are machine washable. I bought the bf a pair of those n another color a while back and the cut and style look the same. I'd rather have the option to machine wash, so the new ones were returned. Nice dress pant though - flat front, dressy, comfortable, not too skinny at the ankle - great if you don't mind dry cleaning.
Snug
BR 32" waist always fits under normal circumstances. I'm not sure why I couldn't even button this dress pant without sucking in my waist (haven't gained any weight recently). Doesn't fit comfortably like my other ...
Average pant
These cotton dress ... average. I am a much bigger fan of the straight fit since it is not as loose in the leg. The ... good quality (like nearly everything from BR) and look nice. I am sure they will last for a good amount of time. Overall, I am just glad that BR offers dress clothes in 28 waist, they are nearly impossible to find with other brands.

Booty is a bit tight for those of you with junk in the trunk. Pant leg width is nice and slim though and material is soft and great quality. I am 6'2 190lbs and I stay in shape but everyone can see my booty in these ... Ideal ... slimmer guys with no junk in the trunk.

Fantastic
I love the Monogram line and in paticular this suit coat and ... My only complaint would be the length of the pant, which has an inseam of 34, is just a tad bit too short.
Great ... but Horrible Quality
The suit fits wonderfully, although the 32 pant length is more like a 31. However, a seam split in the crotch on the FIRST DAY I wore this suit (the ... otherwise ... fine, even a little loose, so this was clearly a quality issue). This will be the last time I purchase a BR suit. It is worth the extra money for Hugo or HIckey suits that are stitched by folks who realize they are making a quality garment.

After hours of phone conversations I evntually went to a local store and was informed that THERE IS NOT A MATCHING PANT to the "BR Monogram Italian Wool" suit coat. DO NOT BUY THIS SUIT, Banana Republic does not have a matching pant!

Classic chinos
This is a great pair of ... not too baggy, not too slim. Comfortable. Great for work or casual. One of the few places I can buy 34 x 36 - in a slim fit. Most tall sizes are also BIG and I am not BIG, just tall.
Banana is great for tall and skinny guys
I have struggled for years trying to find jeans and ... actually fit me. I am 6'6/6'7 and thin, so big and tall stores don’t fit the bill because they are for tall and heavy guys which I am not. About 8 months ago I was in Banana and I had never bought ... there because they only go to 34L, i was talking to an associate in the Scottsdale store and they told me just go online and you can get 36L. So it did, and i have never looked back since. I was also impressed by the tall sizes for shirts, this is great. Banana realizes that not everyone is 5'8 in the world and I love it, you guys also have the best deals of any store and I can say I have spent hundreds of dollars in your stores over the past year and plan to as long as you have the deals and tall sizes. Great job!!!!

I'm 5'4" with an athletic build (powerlifter) with large thighs, and a smaller (30") waist. It's a big tight around the thighs and could be a bit more roomy for the hips and crotch but it's not uncomfortable at all. Just my preference. The look and material are great though.
Awesome material in feel and look, just a tad too loose
PROS: - Rich colors (I have both moose brown & charleston brown, both look great) - Great material in feel and quality - Solid construction - Very comfortable. CONS: - Waist is a tad loose (yet not loose enough to order a smaller size) - Legs a little looser/wider than other BR straight fit ... - I wish they were wrinkle free, b/c I hate ironing. BOTTOM LINE: I'm a big fan of these chinos, and would definitely recommend them.
Gavin Chinos
The Gavin straight leg chinos are a good buy. They are nice looking ... work or upscale casual events. The one problem I have is the waist ... One pair is right on and the next pair you try on is either too big or too small in the waist. Inconsistent sizing in the waist makes these ... difficult to order online - must try them on to guarantee a ...
I bought this to wear to work -- with my field, it was casual enough to be dressier than the jeans most people wear, but not too formal. I found that it fit well in the waist, but the legs seemed way too baggy. I expected, because it was a straight fit, that it would be slimmer, but it fit worse than a loose fit pant. Maybe the proportions were different because I wear big and tall sizes. If it were slimmer, it would have been perfect. I especially loved the softness and quality of the fabric.
Not a big fan
I just wanted to give this new gavins a try and they dissapointed me. Read the "How does it ... tab" So you know what i'm talking about. Big fan of the taylored slim dress ... though. i'll Keep buying those.
Nice cut-- but too short!
Cut of these ... fabric are both great--however (and this is a big however) the ... were about 1/4 inch smaller than the regular BR chino-- they looked like floods on my husband! There are some things in life where every 1/4 counts, and this is one of them!
Just not the same...
What a disappointment! The new fit Dawson ... way too big in the legs. To me, the old ... fit much better. I'm a " Big Man" at 6'4 276 and the ... actually fell off my waist, while the ... leg covered my entire shoe. I think I received a bad pair of ... So before I start my search for a new brand Khakis, I will try another size.
disaster
i loved my Gavins. i've probably bought 20 pairs over the years. they fit me perfectly. little bit in at the waist. big through the thighs so i could walk without the ... sticking to me. little taper so i could get a break in the fabric without looking like i was swimming in pantleg. THEN... disaster. i could put up with the softer (cheaper, quicker wearing) fabric, but the fit redesign is horrible. this was a classic pant made for an active man. all of a sudden they bind in the thigh, are loose all over the seat and the waist doesn't ... oh, and my shoes are barely visible. if BR is threatened by Bonobos, please start a Bobobos competitive line. but please please bring back the classic ... Gavin. Until then, I'll be over at J Crew.
Wow, do these ... shrink!
I found them originally in a store, and liked them so much I bought two different colors. Great slacks, exactly what I was looking to buy. Except... 1) The store didn't warn that the length changes a lot with washing, so I ended up returning two pair of the 35x32 size. 2) Stores don't carry 35x34 -- for the first time in my life, I'm categorized as 'big and tall'. 3) Liked the ... so much I ordered a pair of 35x34 online, but after washing the 34 length ... too short as well (and this has never happened before) -- watch out shoppers!

Surprised with an amzing ...
As a competitive triathlete, I have a very athletic build and usually have the issue of ... too tight in the legs and butt, which typically forces me to buy a bigger waist size that looks ridiculous if I need to tuck the shirt. This chino was a great surprise in that it acommodated ahtleticisim, by not hiding my shape, and without sacrificing that patented tailored look that I love about BR. Going to get an additional 2 pairs as this ... typically hard to find. Big thanks BR
Perfect for Athletic guys
I HATE buying ... have a small waist, big (athletic) butt and legs. So, I always end up buying a size too big and get the waist tailored. NOT with these!!! These ... me perfectly. I was so excited that I found these. I bought every color and threw out all of my other work ... These are the ones for me. I know It's ridiculous that I'm this excited over a pair of pants.....but THEY ... These are perfect for guys that work out or are bodybuilders. Thanks BR...now, don't you dare discontinue these!

Big and Tall review
I'm on the edge of 6'5" and weigh 215 so I have to do online shopping for clothes. It's a mess because nothing ever fits - flat front ... never worked. The flat front relaxed Dawson chino, however, fits. I'm between a 35 and 36 inch waist and the 35 worked. The 36L inseam is a perfect ... Most importantly, the crotch is NOT obscene and they ... through the thigh. They are "dressier" than other chinos in that they have the slide/hook button instead of the traditional button. I purchased two colors: acorn and khaki and they are both true fits. For other Big and Tall purchases, "Relaxed" fits work with Banana Republic. I'm just thankful I don't have to wear PLEATS anymore!
Great cut
This pant was just perfect. I'm not a really ... guy nor am I a small guy. The pant is free from waist through the leg. A little long but that is fine by me. I got the green first but the gray looks better than I expected too.
A good work pant
I have a small waist and can only buy ... online. My waist is about 28 inches, but because I run and lift weights, my legs are big for my frame. I need to but a 29 inche waist just to have some room for my legs. The Dawson chinos are great because the waist is true to size and the are a little roomier in the legs. I did think they were a little short, but they are close enough for the length. I wear these to work, but they would be good for casual outings.

new ones are good
I like the new dawson ... never used the previous chinos since they were too baggy and made me look like i was 10 years older. The new ... sits perfectly at the waist and is "slim" enough that I now look more like my age. The new fabric also looks and feels good. Good job BR.my only complaint: why dont they have a 30waist 34 length. I am now using 30w, 32 length and it is too short while 31w by 34 length is too big on the waist. Hope you bring out these chinos in 30w by 34 length.
Comfortable, quality ... let down by a few flaws and inconsistencies
I've got three colors of the Dawson chino, and I'm quite pleased. I got the Charleston Brown (which is a brown so dark as to verge on charcoal, darker than the photo above), Moose Brown (which is really more of a grayish olive) and Acorn (true to photo, a nice rich British khaki.) The fabric has a nice, heavy weight but is still breathable, so they're suitable for four season wear in Denver. They tend to not hold wrinkles too badly, so they don't look like they've been slept in by noon. The colors are distinctive but not flashy, and pair well with just about every shirt I own. I found the ... perfect; I've got hiker thighs, and the straight ... just don't work for me. They're also comfortable enough to sit at a desk all day - won't ride up in the crotch. I won't rate them that much on ... because your mileage may of course vary. I also like how these have angled pockets, rather than the Gavin's on seam pockets - on seam pockets are great if you're built like a marathon runner, but if you've got an extra 15 pounds or are just built big they stick out and make you look like you're rocking the birthing hips. A couple of minor quibbles: a double belt loop in the back is pretty necessary and not present. Also, I order 34s and usually get them altered to a 33 inch ish inseam. The acorn and moose brown pairs needed to be altered - the Charleston brown was short enough to wear without alteration. There seems to be substantial variation in length between colors, so try them all on.
