big and tall khakis - reviews

Love itSo I prefer my pants a little loose...i'm big and have big thick thighs and it's difficult finding pants that are comfortably loose without being insanely baggy. These are it! This is what i thought i was getting when i ordered the Dawson ... - which is waaay too baggy. The Gavin ... phenomenal. I now own 6 pairs...i plan on putting a permanent crease on a couple of them just to make them a LITTLE bit dressier for work. Truth be told, though, they can be worn as is right to work. Bottom line. LOVE THESE PANTS!

Banana is great for tall and skinny guysI have struggled for years trying to find jeans and pants that actually fit me. I am 6'6/6'7 and thin, so big and tall stores don’t fit the bill because they are for tall and heavy guys which I am not. About 8 months ago I was in Banana and I had never bought pants from there because they only go to 34L, i was talking to an associate in the Scottsdale store and they told me just go online and you can get 36L. So it did, and i have never looked back since. I was also impressed by the tall sizes for shirts, this is great. Banana realizes that not everyone is 5'8 in the world and I love it, you guys also have the best deals of any store and I can say I have spent hundreds of dollars in your stores over the past year and plan to as long as you have the deals and tall sizes. Great job!!!!

short person likes the pantsI'm 5'4" with an athletic build (powerlifter) with large thighs, and a smaller (30") waist. It's a big tight around the thighs and could be a bit more roomy for the hips and crotch but it's not uncomfortable at all. Just my preference. The look and material are great though.

Nice pant for slim, tall menThese pants fit my 6'5 husband perfectly. The style is modern and appropriate for his semi casual workplace. The fabric is of medium weight and washed well. I hung them to dry to avoid shrinkage. We are very pleased to find pants in "tall" with out being "Big and Tall"or styled for older gentlemen. We will be ordering more in the future.

Classic ... This is a great pair of pants, not too baggy, not too slim. Comfortable. Great for work or casual. One of the few places I can buy 34 x 36 - in a slim fit. Most tall sizes are also BIG and I am not BIG, just tall.

experience with Gavin ... I purchase 2 pair of these Gavin pants 34/30 in Stone color and Britsh ... they both fit perfect and I love them , but the reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is because I tried 2 other colors Black and Moose Brown and neither one fit the same! to tight on waist and too short on the Lenght. Quality control needs to take a look at these post because they are loosing Money on Customers big time. I wear these mostly at work in the office.

Be careful of inconsistent sizingOrdered two Gavin pant colors (acorn and moose brown? - i believe these were the color names). Both 33x34. The acorn fit well; however, the moose brown were far too large. I actually got two pair of the moose browns - one pair was extremely big, both in the waist and length. They were more like a 36x36 and extremely baggy in the pant legs. The other pair was still way off, but not nearly as bad. Obviously they both got returned. I purchased two 33x34 acorns at my local store, they fit great. Also: the acorns are actually darker than they appear online. They look great, and are an improvement over the previous ... color offered by BR. However the moose brown looks kind olive green in certain light. Didn't like it.

Amazing Pants But They Run ShortBought a pair of 31X34 patriot blues online. They fit like a 31X33. I'm going to have to wash them in cold water and hang dry them to ensure they won't shrink as I know, being cotton, they are sure to do. Other than the size (which is a big deal), these pants are amazing. The fit (around the waist, thighs, and seat) is awesome and the material is just amazing. These pants are also very comfortable and appear to be well made. The only exception is the cheap hook at the waist.

VERY DisappointedI hate to write a negative review as I'm a loyal customer of BR but I could not have been more disappointed in these pants. I will admit... the sizing is going to play a role "perhaps" ... but I got my usual 34x34 delivered yesterday and they HAD to have been more like a size 36x36. It was ridiculous. The thing is... it's not just the sizing was, of course, WAY off, but they are the baggiest pants I have tried on since maybe 10 or 12 years ago! The rise was waaaay too long and around the hips and thighs, they fit more like a pair of classic Dockers or something to that effect as they bunched out and most certainly not straight or fitted whatsoever. My favorite is usually their boot cut ... which.. if you pick out the right one's, are nice and slim all the way down with "just about" the perfect leg opening... more of a straight than flared. I was expecting something at least sort of similar but with a more narrow leg all the way down. Let me just say that "baggy" and "extremely tapered" are not a flattering fit. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and try a smaller size but I am not pleased whatsoever with these. I just hope it was the particular pair that I received. But then again, Banana needs to do something to get their sizing more consistent. This is not good business and whatever they need to do to fix this, they need to get it done. In my opinion too, they need to distance themselves from their other brands like GAP, Old Navy, etc... I never liked the marketing approach they went to a few years ago. I don't care how big and successful they are, if you're going to market to a mid higher level target, I think they need to show a little individualism. Ok, sorry to rant.. I'm just not pleased by the "cookie cutter" products they have spitting out. They are nice and heavy weight no doubt, which I give them credit for... but fit and consistency should be their main objective.
Just not the same...What a disappointment! The new fit Dawson pants are way too big in the legs. To me, the old pants fit much better. I'm a " Big Man" at 6'4 276 and the pants actually fell off my waist, while the pants leg covered my entire shoe. I think I received a bad pair of pants. So before I start my search for a new brand Khakis, I will try another size.
Did not workI got these for my husband and will be returning. He wears ... work every day, and this will definately not work for that. They are pretty slim, and he is not a big man. Almost too tight in sensitive areas if you know what I mean. We'll go back to Dawson fit, but just a warning, he is about 6'2" 185, and usually wears 34 length, these are very short.

big and tall khakis - reviews

Great khakisThese pants are great, the popular sizes will go fast. My husband doesn't care for the pleated tapered khakis that the "old" guys wear so these are perfect. They wash up nicely and stay pretty wrinkle free if you're careful. Bought them in 3 colors!

Stock more pantsBanana needs to stock these better. The majority of sizes have been out of stock online for nearly a month. I'd like to buy another pair of Dawson ... but I might just have to buy a pair of khakis from somewhere else because they're frequently out of stock. 35W/34L.

... Tall review I'm on the edge of 6'5" and weigh 215 so I have to do online shopping for clothes. It's a mess because nothing ever fits - flat front pants never worked. The flat front relaxed Dawson ... however, fits. I'm between a 35 and 36 inch waist and the 35 worked. The 36L inseam is a perfect fit. Most importantly, the crotch is NOT obscene and they fit through the thigh. They are "dressier" than other ... they have the slide/hook button instead of the traditional button. I purchased two colors: acorn and ... they are both true fits. For other ... Tall purchases, "Relaxed" fits work with Banana Republic. I'm just thankful I don't have to wear PLEATS anymore!

I love my new pantsI have worn Ralph Lauren khakis for years and was sick of spending $120 - I purchased a pair of these in the store because they were a sale color and they have been great for 1/3 the cost and actually a bit more comfortable.

Sleek, casual pantI needed a nice pair of khakis. This pair is perfect. They look great and are very comfortable.

Just what I was looking forI was looking for a good pair of casual pants for work and was tired of khakis. These are really comfortable and fit well. The relaxed fit is just right if you're looking for a casual look.

good fit for athletic buildI had been searching for a comfortable pair of khakis to wear for work and having little luck until i tried these. As a cyclist with a trim waist and muscular thighs slim fit pants dont work for me. I ordered a 31 X 34 and they fit perfectly. The length did shrink maybe a 1/4 after the first wash but i expected this since they are 100 % cotton. Initially i bought two pairs and have since bought four more pairs. If you have an athletic build give these a try.

Love the free shipping and returnsI purchased the pants for the Groomsmen in our wedding. Two of the groomsmen have ... tall sizes so we couldn't buy theirs at the outet where we purchased the other 3 pairs. The only bad thing is the color is different from the colors available at the outlet store.

6''3'''' and 36" length pants were WAY too shortI'm a ... guy 6'3'' and I'm accustomed to resorting to purchasing pants/jeans online in order to find my size (36 lengths). However I've never purchased Banana Republic jeans before (I usually stick with Gap, but they didn't have anything like these khakis) and they looked more like a 33 length, so I had to return them. Also the waist was too small as well (again I'm normally a 33-34 waist) I tried the 33 and they were too tight on me. I'd LOVE if BR make 38 length of these pants. I'd buy them in a heart beat.

not the sameI generally wear only Banana Republic Khakis. I'm a fan. But in this case, and reordered the exact same size of the same pants, but the waist/butt is 1-2 inches too ... haven't changed, but quality control has.
Shrinks 3/4 of an inch on first washIf you are ... actually need a 36" inseam, do not even bother with these. I have been buying gap khakis for many years and the last ones I bought in Jan '11 shrunk almost an inch. The material was very thin and the zippers broke easily. I sent them back and tried Banana Republic thinking the quality might be better. Although the material is slightly thicker, they shrunk just as much. 2 of the 5 zippers are difficult. The khakis I purchased 3 years ago and thought were a bit too short and needed replacing are still longer than the new ones by over a 1/2inch. This may not seem like a lot, but when you are over 6'7" every little bit counts. I have been disappointed with the quality of just about everything I have purchased from Gap in the past 2 years. I'd really like to see the same quality back in their clothing that I've come to expect from Gap/Banana Republic over the last 20 years.

big and tall khakis - reviews
