Perfect ... Pants
My college age son loves all things Banana Republic, so I bought him these khakis for Christmas online, and gift wrapped. I could not have been more pleased with the whole experience. My son loved these pants so much, he went straight to the store the day after Christmas and bought another identical pair; they were just that perfect! I will continue to order items for him online and send them straight to his dorm because I know he'll love it and I can totally trust Banana Republic's wonderful service. Thanks BR!!

hip khakis
Bought these for my hubby for work and they look great. Not a slouchy shapeless ... cute butt or maybe that's just my hubby. ; ) But I don't think they would look nice on guys without a lean build just like skinny jeans don't work well on curvy girls.

The Perfect ...
Put these ... they ... like a glove! Some of my other khakis are baggy around the leg, which I can't stand. These are truly a clean straight leg that are perfect for the office..but versatile & comfortable enough for me to wear on the weekends too!! 5 stars!

Very Nice Khakis
I have a very difficult time finding clothes that ... normal department stores. I am 6'4 and 215lbs. I bought these pants online hoping for the best and the ... perfectly. I wear them everywhere because they are extremely comfortable. The material is a mid weight so they work well in the cooler months or evenings. The Gavin ... like a slim straight ... also orderd a Vintage ... Emerson ... they were very snug, to say the least. The more colors these pants come in, the more I will buy. I picked up size 34W 36L.

Nice, but baggier than expected.
With the other reviews talking about the newer ... feel it must be more the rise of the pant. The pants ... nicely at the waist and the length was correct. I feel the seat of the pant, and also through the leg was a bit too baggy (6 foot - 165 lbs, 32/34). I'm glad I got this instead of the other version, which is "relaxed" through the leg...I assume this means they would be baggier. Overall they ... nicely, and would probably buy them again in the future for an everyday pair of khakis for work.

... well, not too tight (like slim ... but a nice form ... tapered look. A dressy pair of khakis.

Great Pant, Unique Fabric
I got these pants because I needed a new pair of catch all khakis, and they certainly ... bill. They are nice enough to dress up with a shirt and tie, yet relaxed enough for flip flops and a tee. I will say one thing about them, the fabric has properties similar to microfiber...IE you can see the outline of what's in your pockets from outside the pants. Because of the ... through the leg, your cell phone/wallet/keys will be readily apparent to everyone around you. Still a great pair of ... though

getting better, not quite there yet
These are a ... improvement over the previous fit. They're almost the perfect pair of pants. I get the feeling that the change was in response to the overwhelming demand for Gap's original khakis, which are spot on in ... Either that or JCrew's essential ... which are about identical overall. With that said, the major problem I have with them is that the leg opening is too tapered. It's about half the size of what is depicted in the images. It's so small that the pants don't flow over the opening of the shoes, making for a very unkempt look. I like the look that they were going for but they fell short in this very important category. Pants are great otherwise.

Variable ...
I got these ... two different colors for my husband. The moose brown color ... perfectly - correct length, correct size - and look great on him. The other pair (driftwood) were at least an inch shorter and the legs also seemed skinnier. They went back to the store. But, the store doesn't carry talls so it's impossible to try them on ahead of time. I would say, take a chance and order if you don't care if you have to return them. When they are of correct sizing they are really nice.

Just not the same...
What a disappointment! The new fit Dawson pants are way too ... legs. To me, the old pants fit much better. I'm a " ... Man" at 6'4 276 and the pants actually fell off my waist, while the pants leg covered my entire shoe. I think I received a bad pair of pants. So before I start my search for a new brand Khakis, I will try another size.

I love my new ...
I have worn Ralph Lauren khakis for years and was sick of spending $120 - I purchased a pair of these in the store because ... were a sale color and ... have been great for 1/3 the cost and actually a bit more comfortable.

Great khakis
These ... great, the popular sizes will go fast. My husband doesn't care for the pleated tapered khakis that the "old" guys wear so these are perfect. ... wash up nicely and stay pretty wrinkle free if you're careful. Bought them in 3 colors!

Just what I was looking for
I was looking for a good pair of casual ... work and was tired of khakis. These are really comfortable and ... well. The relaxed ... just right if you're looking for a casual look.

6''3'''' and 36" length ... were WAY too short
I'm a ... guy 6'3'' and I'm accustomed to resorting to purchasing ... online in order to find my size (36 lengths). However I've never purchased Banana Republic jeans before (I usually stick with Gap, but they didn't have anything like these khakis) and they looked more like a 33 length, so I had to return them. Also the waist was too small as well (again I'm normally a 33-34 waist) I tried the 33 and they were too tight on me. I'd LOVE if BR make 38 length of these ... I'd buy them in a heart beat.

not the same
I generally wear only Banana Republic Khakis. I'm a fan. But in this case, and reordered the exact same size of the same ... but the waist/butt is 1-2 inches too ... haven't changed, but quality control has.

Shrinks 3/4 of an inch on first wash
If you are ... actually need a 36" inseam, do not even bother with these. I have been buying gap khakis for many years and the last ones I bought in Jan '11 shrunk almost an inch. The material was very thin and the zippers broke easily. I sent them back and tried Banana Republic thinking the quality might be better. Although the material is slightly thicker, they shrunk just as much. 2 of the 5 zippers are difficult. The khakis I purchased 3 years ago and thought were a bit too short and needed replacing are still longer than the new ones by over a 1/2inch. This may not seem like a lot, but when you are over 6'7" every little bit counts. I have been disappointed with the quality of just about everything I have purchased from Gap in the past 2 years. I'd really like to see the same quality back in their clothing that I've come to expect from Gap/Banana Republic over the last 20 years.

Finally - boot cut chino''s are BACK!
Finally boot cut chino's are BACK! 4 or 5 years ago BR, GAP, and Old Navy carried boot cut khakis or chino's. Boot cut is my favorite style and I have not been able to find them for a few years. I didn't hesitate when i saw them on the BR website - i bought 2 pair.. i have since purchased 2 more. They fit great and are great quality. It's about time the designers and buyers realized that the entire world doesn't wear skinny pants!

Excellent fit! Please make more pants with these fits/cuts!
It's not so easy to find great fitting pants these days, but I really like these. The high inseam & low cut waist with straight legs make it very stylish (for slimmer people). Banana's standard stock of khakis don't fit as well as these boot cut ... slim people. Please make these a part of your regular stock for all your stores!

Finally a good pair of boot cut chinos
I’ve been looking for a good pair of boot cut chinos for months. None of the many, many stores in my area have any (side note to Dockers: your khakis are terrible) and I’d begun to give up. On a whim, I did a Google search for boot cut ... arrived at these. Ordered a pair and they fit wonderfully. Imagine, a good pair of ... good looking boot cut. A bit loose in the rear, and I’d prefer a 33-inch inseam, but you can’t have everything. If you need boot cut ... here you go.

Awesome Khakis
Finally, these khakis have the right fit and silouette. The legs look really wide, but when you try them on they fit great. If you truly like a bootcut, these are the best I've had. The fit is very comfortable. The best fit is if you can go down one inch in your waist size. Banana Republic khakis tend to run ... waist. Thanks Banana Republic.

Look and feel great
These boot cut chinos look and feel better than I expected. I would recommend them to slim/athletic bodied men. They are slim through the thigh and knee and then have the perfect boot cut flare that allows them to fall nicely on top of shoes while not looking like bell bottoms. They are more casual than normal khakis or slacks but work well for going out to a casual dinner or wearing for a relaxed day at the office. While I like how slim they are in the thighs, one of my only complaints is that it's difficult to store much in the pockets and even something as thin as a smartphone bulges and is visible through the material. If you like a more relaxed fit, I would recommend going up a size.

How they fit for what body type!
So I own a pair of the previous boot cut and as everyone has stated they are a better cut, style and fit. However after the conundrum caused by reading the other reviews regarding how much the new boot cut sucks, I decided I would find out for myself. Truth is, they are not near as bad as the reviews. Here is the deal, if you are athletic built with decent to muscular legs they will fit and look great. If you have no thigh, then yes they will appear big and the boot leg open will definitely appear large. For reference, I am 6'2" 210lbs very athletic built. My legs match my upper body both being muscular with low body fat. My waist is around 31-32" I ordered two pair of 34/34. The waist is a little big as expected but I always order a larger waist to give me a little more leg room. They are cut true to size and fit great with no alterations needed. The boot cut leg open looks good and the fit on my thigh is perfect, not too tight and not loose. Very pleased and will order more in the future! Bottom line... If you have no thigh/quad maybe they will look to big but for you guys that are thick or muscular, give them a try! Also, BR please bring back the pocket from the previous style and a simple single button for the fly will work fine!

Exellent if you have size 12+ feet
It's always hard to find khakis that will fit around your shoes if you have ... feet. These pants solve that problem. The fit is a bit different, but very good if you have an athletic build (hard to find flat front pants that fit well some times). Order a down a waist size for a better fit.

Great fit but ... leg opening - will have it tailored.
THESE CHINOS HAVE TWO ISSUES. First, I love the fit of these chinos until I think about the leg openings. They truly are bell bottoms if one wears regular shoes or sneakers. I wear the denim bootlegs that are also described as having larger leg openings and they're nowhere as near as ... looking as these khakis. I believe the problem is that they were constructed in such a way that the leg opening begnis to flare out at the knee and not at the calf, which is an observation I've made with many bootleg pants. The only way these chinos look good is with boots on, and obviously, bootlegs pants/jeans should be more versatile than this. Even with this legitimate gripe/complaint, I'll be keeping the chinos and have ordered another because they feel incredible and the leg opening issue isn't something a good tailor can't fix. The other issue I think is of concern is with the color. I bought the moose brown and the chinos I received looked almost identical in color to the charleston brown, although the packaging and tags identified it as moose brown. The same occurred with the ... ones I bought, which look exactly like the acorn chinos. It appears that one should expect to receive a color one level darker than the one you order.

Where are the ORIGINAL Banana Republic bootcut khakis? Too darn baggy.
Banana Republic was the first brand to carry bootcut khakis and chinos and dress pants. I started wearing them since 2000. They were low rise, slim or straight in the thigh and slightly wider at the bottom opening. They had fit somewhat like the famous Diesel Zathan jeans. Over the past few years, they have been replaced by a baggy, too casual, average looking chino more designed for a skateboarder than a BR gentleman. Why ruin a previously excellent and hugely popular design? And why make them only in a casual heavy chino? If BR was smart, they would revert back to the original slimmer bootcut and in different varieties of wear (dress, casual, semi dress). The key is to keep the rise low, the thigh straight/slim, and the bottoms just slightly wider than normal Dawson regular fit. Why is this so hard for the designers to understand? Banana should again re emerge as the bootfit champion and not simply follow the slim modern fit tailored pants which all other stores like Jcrew and Polo carry. The key is to create the trend, NOT follow it. BR used to create it...
