Must Have - ... wool two button ... blazer I was looking for a new ... quite some time and I'm glad I decided to go with this one. I purchased it online and I got exctly what I wnted. The ... fits me very well and the material is what you would expect from BR. The overall look is young and modern and with a matching bright color, it's a killer choice.
Great ... Jacket I bought this for my boyfriend for a sequence of events requiring a nice ... not too heavy a wool, fit rather well, and was sleek in its design. We tried one on in the store and the waist was a little loose but the size 44 shoulders fit perfectly so we planned to order online and then have the jacket taken in a bit. When it arrived [...]the jacket fit perfectly, no need for alterations. So trying on is always a good idea because there may be slight differences piece to piece.
Great blazer to bring on your next tripThis blazer is a nice, clean silhouette that accommodates both a thin and more muscular build. This is a great item to bring with you on your next trip as the wool doesn’t wrinkle. Running true to size.
Fits off the rackI lift weights and often find that ... blazers will fit on my chest and arms but be too big around the waist. Not this jacket, it looks great all over as if it were tailored. This fit me off the rack which is priceless! Great if you have a very athletic build. Finally, Banana Republic acknownledges that we exist!
A staple every man should have in his wardrobeIf you are looking for a 2 button ... that's not cut boxy and loose like most ... you'll find, then definitely try this ... labeled as Modern Fit. BR has another fit for ... called Tailored ... if you are looking for a slim ... if you are a skinny person then get the Tailored ... If you workout with weights like I do though, the Tailored ... may be a bit snug though. The Modern ... good compromise though as it's not too slim and not too lose. I needed a ... formal occasions and this ... fits the bill perfectly. The ... received was marked as made in Canada.

THE ... I bought this ... my wedding, coming up in two months. I paid about [$] for the combined jacket and pants, and am overall happy with the purchase. I nearly bought a [$] slightly more old school but better fitting Calvin K but this more in my price range. Banana doesn't really make ... lanky guys like me, as much as JCrew or Express might normally (a 40L would have been prefect but they don't MAKE one) but hopefully the tailor will be able to help me out with the sleeves, and take in the body a bit. BUT, the quality is superb, feel is fancy, and I'm just excited to get married!
Great ... great price After having the last couple of ... made to-measure and tailored (Hong Kong and Savile Row, London) I've tended to shun off the-rail. But I was in need of a black ... having 'outgrown' my decade old Hugo Boss (i.e. got too fat for the trousers!) so I took a look at the BR modern fit ... have to say (thanks to a generous selection of chest, waist and leg lengths) it fits as good as my bespoke ... Good quality Italian cloth from Cerrutti mills that is crease resistant and plenty of pockets. My only comment would be the lapels are narrower than I'd like. But for a ... cost me a less than $400 (pants were on sale and I also had a 20% voucher) it's a concession I can live with! I recommend buying two pairs of pants, just in case.
nicely designed and styled garment. But am useually a 38R, and this jacket was too tight when buttoned up. The 40R was way too roomy, and cost of alterations for the jacket didn't make it worth while to keep. Pity, because it is a well designed European style ... jacket
Basic Black SuitThis is a basic black 2-button suit in a high twist yarn. A standard staple item, classic, elegant, yet simple. When paired with the matching suit pant, it is great for a night out, to funerals, weddings and the like. The suit is a "Modern Fit" which isn't mentioned in the description page, but the tag sown onto the jacket states so. A "Modern Fit" is basically a looser cut in the chest, wider shoulders, etc. Best way to describe it would be a "boxy" fit. If you are looking for a looser cut, then this is what you're looking for. If you are looking for a slimmer cut, then this would be a fairly generous cut, compared to the "Tailored Fit" is offered in some other ... BR. The sleeve holes are quite big as well. I purchased a 36R, and the sleeves were too long, I was hoping that BR offers a 36S, but they do not. The material was pretty decent, and as expected for a high twist wool suit from BR. Light mid weight wool, makes it fairly versatile year round, if you live in a mild climate area.
Too sloppy for my tasteI am a fan of BR clothing and have one of their ... (charcoal modern 3-button pinstripe from a few seasons back) and many dress pants and shirts. I am accustomed to, and appreciate, BR's fit which tend to be more slim and body conscious. I was surprised then to find that the ... jacket purchased came off as quite loose in the chest area and appeared to me, sloppy. The fabric, color,length and quality were what I anticipated but I couldn't get over the "billowing" nature of the jacket on me. I've learned if it doesn't "feel right" on you, don't even try- and it didn't. I did read in some comments that it is a "modern" cut, even though it is not listed that way on the site, and thought that since my other ... fit so well, this would translate. Maybe it is because of the 2-button nature, not sure. I am an athletic guy (32" waist, 44 chest, 6"1' for reference- if that even matters) so am looking for something to flatter I guess. I would have gone for the Monogram (sp?) single button but the pants have been sold out for forever in my size; it appears as though that is a slimmer cut however and will have to go for that. I returned the ... local store after having purchased it online due to needing a "L" (long) as they don't stock these locally.

Just about the perfect ... I ... two pair. I would wear them every day. They look and feel great ... don't draw attention. They are a conservative cut, medium rise, and very well made. You get what you pay for.
Great PantsI love the look and feel of these Modern styled dress pants. The material is quality and the cut and styling is spot on. These are a little more pricey than some of the other wool dress pants, ... opinion it's worth the extra dough. I ... these in Gray and ... would buy again.
Highly RecommendedThe leg opening at the bottom is not tapered or flared. This is so hard to find as most "slim ... type ... tapered and most wide leg ... like baggy jeans. These are the perfect compromise between the two. Modern looking and wrinkle free which means that they look great from 8AM to 8PM.

Great ... slack! This slack matches perfectly to the new ... two button ... blazer. It has an amazing hand feel and is the perfect weight for all seasons. Makes you feel like a million bucks without spending a mint on it.
Comfortable pants, great ... At 6'6" and 220 pounds,I ... struggled to find dress pants that ... just right (you know, where the crotch doesn't drop halfway down the thigh...that looks ridiculous) and are also made right (most ... places make such cheaply made product), but I finally ... now with these pants. The material stretches with you and feels good and the flat front look is sharp. I ... athletic build with thin legs so this cut is just right for me. But if you ... thicker legs, I probably would recommend a larger waist size. These are the pants that go with the three button jacket to make the staple every man needs: the classic ... liked it so much I also bought them in grey. ... only gripe is that the bottom hem is not cuffed, but there is plenty of material there to ... done.
Good job BR!!Very happy with my purchase. I am 6 foot 5 inches, 250lbs with a ... build, so I guess you can say I am a relatively big guy. It is very difficult for me to find pants that ... still have a smart modern look. Especially being that I am in Montreal Canada and the BR stores up here do not carry my size. They use to but not anymore. :( BR IMHO has the best pants overall taking into consideration price, quality and trendiness. I have over 10 pairs of their pants and each one of them looks great and they last "forever!" Just to give you an idea, I have other ... higher price point companies such as Hugo Boss etc... and I still do not like them as much as my BRs. So, thank you BR for making good quality products that ... they way that they do and please keep it that way. You will be hearing from me again soon.... :)
