big and tall dress pants - reviews

These pants are perfect for my build and didn't require any tailoring at all, which is a nice surprise. Usually I have to order a bit longer than normal and hem down, but I ordered these exactly and they fit well. The pockets are well designed such that they don't bulge out the sides and leave some nice, clean lines. The slimmer fit looks modern and works well with BR's slim fit shirts.

perfect ...
i have to say, these ... flawless. they look amazing and they're not really loose like some dress ... but they're not too snug either. br is great for offering smaller sizes (i wear a 28 waist), and i'm really happy with how these ... look and feel. i'm going to stock up.

Great Pants
These pants were available 4 years ago and I loved them. After ruining them I was upset to find out they were not available any more until now. These are the best pants. The material allows you to move around as though you were wearing sweat pants. I am a big guy and these pants are true to size. They are not snug on the waist, thigh or rear. Perfect pants. Banana needs to match a suit jacket and I would buy up the collection.

Finally... they''re back!
Several years ago, I had a closet full of BR stretch wool dress ... They were perfect for the office and for heading out afterward - my favorite ... Then... they dissappeared. Gone seemingly forever. I tried several of BR's similar (100% wool) replacement models and they have all been donated to charity as they just weren't the same: bad fitting, uncomfortable and generally sad replacements for my favorite ... but now they're back! Comfortable, light weight, relaxed fit... great all around ... look fantastic. Thank you BR!

Highly Versatile. A must have.
These pants are amazing! Extremely versatile. Very comfortable and they're virtually wrinkle proof. I've been searching for a nice pair or black dress slacks for work and business casual occasions... i have finally found them! I've already received numerous complements on them... I'm a physician and work at least 12 hrs a day... even after wearing these pants for >12hrs, they still looked as good as when I first put them on in the AM. After reading some of the reviews, I was worried... but these pants have not let me down. Extremely well made... as for the feel of the material, if you've ever purchased wool/spandex blend, you'll know how the material will feel. As for size, I'm a size 35 waist for BR pants and I ordered these in a 35 waist and they fit perfectly... as for length, I went one size longer than I normally get and they're fine... so I might suggest getting one size longer...

Classic will fit again.
I was confused, for the better, while trying these classic fit wool pants on due to the style name, and understandably why other reviewers seem frustrated. Until recently, all male formalwear labeled in any degree classic has fit a man like an oversized baggy mess, The average male body has needed styles labeled vintage, slim, custom, silhouette etc. to obtain simple ... definition and tailoring, though designers never forget to add cost with each creatively furthered tailoring adjective. For this particular ... classic fit has jumped back to fitting an average slender male body, the lower half at least. After trying several styles I found classic to now hold uniform tailoring, a narrow lower leg, and room to still tuck in a shirt. Note that the modern style is significantly more roomy and less defined, matching a loose straight leg ... indicates male style/sizing is heading toward classic meaning the ground zero starting point for true to-size formalwear and will lessen the confusion. Designers have noticed the average male body has improved and classic means fit and healthy (and big and tall means just that).

gift for boyfriend
My boyfriend always has a difficult time finding pants and usually has to resort to ordering ... online and this results in many returns/exchanges because he could not try the clothes on first. He is 6'4", 210lbs, and has an inseam of 36'. He is typically a 34X36, but after having read all the reviews, I ordered him a 36x36. It fit him absolutely perfectly! He loves them and actually wore them the very next day. They're nice, but i will say this, if you plan on ordering yourself (or a man in your life) a pair of these ... ORDER A SIZE UP!

All day comfort
I love the fit and feel of these pants. I wear them all day at the office and go out after and they still look great at the end of the day. Like I've mentioned before, Banana like a tighter waist so I usually get one size larger than I normally wear to allow for a tucked shirt and breathing room. The leg is loose but not baggy, its not a slim fit ... which I find too restrictive. The classic fit is great for me but experiment! Buy a few styles to find what you like and return the rest to the store, that's the great thing about shopping online!

They work for my purposes
I have really thick legs and a big caboose, and BR has finally started making a cut in a flat front ... designed for more than a stick legged waif. This cut is the first time in my life that I have ever been able to buy a pair of pants off the shelf and wear them, rather than buy a ... 4" too big in the waist and have them tailored. I have one of every color.

not the same as the old lightweight wool trouser
I have been a huge fan of BR pants to wear to work for years. their classic staple, the lightweight wool trouser was the best ... ever owned but now seems to be discontinued so I was happy to see something that "looked" like the same thing. it is not the fabric is stiffer than any other BR ... cut is narrower (despite being "classic" fit) and the pockets are cut closer to the side of the ... than any other pair of BR dress pants I own (I own about 5 pair, all 32x32 and they all are cut pretty much the same and fit great). I took the tags off right away because I've never had an issue with BR pants so I'm stuck with them maybe they just need to be broken in and dry cleaned...

JUNK JUNK JUNK
I have been buying BR pants in their various iterations for over 10 years. I wear them to work and out in the evenings and have updated them as my styles have changed (10 years ago they were cut really wide and have gradually become more a modern silhouette which I love). I wore through a black pair doing catering for 3 years so those were replaced about 1.5 years ago. I was waiting over last summer to purchase a new charcoal grey pair due to a hole that developed randomly. So the fall/winter line was released and I went to pick up a pair. First off, I wish I didn't have. The material has entirely too much spandex in it, and the wool is below even Gap quality evident by the fact that when ironed or pressed properly, the fabric won't leave a crisp pleat. It is wavy because the material is so cheap. I thought if I had them dry cleaned, that maybe they would be better. NOPE. They actually shrunk! First wool pants in the history of my life that have shrunk when dry cleaned. Wish I had my [$]back. I through them in the trash.
